Didn't do enough good things for long enough stretches tonight. Its a recurring problem on the road for the Islanders.

Same points as a 2-1 regulation loss.

But maybe this'll act as an ammonia shiv up the nose with all that road trippery approaching.

Weight doesn't seem to have much love for Quine or Prince so far. Too inconsistent.

Give me a Sharp please. He'll add some Speed, add skill to PP, and also bump Prince/Quine out of lineup. Once CC comes back, Beau is pressbox too.

Sharp is unloading bombs from the point - he looks real good.

With the more open style of offense the Isles have gone to under Weight it will expose the defense a little more and will call for our goaltenders to stand on their heads many nights to help us keep it close. Didn't happen tonight as the game went on.

Let's see if we can tighten it up in front of Greiss on Thursday.

I have no idea how anyone is even remotely optomistic after this game, and I was pretty optomistic even when the Islanders were 10 points out or whatever

Beau seems to hit the wall after 3/4 games.

Makes sense. His style is difficult to maintain for a smallish teenager. He'll get better as his strength develops. But for now ideally he should be cycled In and out of the lineup... unfortunately, injuries may not allow it.

The team looked completely out of sync tonight. Honestly looked like a bunch of guys who met yesterday.

Greiss....we may have bitten off more then we can chew with him as our go to guy, of course, we did very little to help him but still....

Even if we somehow squeak into the playoffs , a team that gets blown out like this as much as the Isles do is 1st Round Fodder, food for the sharks and I don't mean SJS, cause this club as constructed will NEVER get close to a SCF appearance.

Pelech looked more like a product of Leddy tonight then a future top-pairing guy. I know this whole post has a "what have you done for me lately" tone but this group is just too inconsistent. In dire need of a legitimate 2nd line center since Nelson is not that.

He should start off in BPT next year.

I wouldn't be opposed to stacking the top-6 there. Let Barzal Beauvillier Ho-Sang and Dal Colle get in the habit of winning and playing with one another. Beauvilliers blue collar game would be a good example for a kid like HoSang.

I'm wondering if this insane schedule is getting to them. If so that isn't good. They have a game every other day for another 10 days

I'm still not sold on Greiss being a #1...

He's been great thus far but looks like a square peg in a round hole as time passes.

Not as square as Strait in the top-4 or Conacher in JTs wing but you get the point. Weight can only get so much out of this group, Greiss is a #1 because of Snow.

I don't care if this team makes the playoffs , SNOW must GO

Between this game and the Ottawa game... it really does say that Capuano was able to contain things a lot better than people have anticipated. This loss tonight, was the worst loss I have seen in a long time. I mean a long time.

The whole defensive corps stunk up the joint, guys like CDH, Hickey and Pelech never showed this malais under Capuano.

Brock Nelson slept through the entire game... Kulemin was skating in circles... Beauvillier was disastrous and has been now for a few games...

The only positive of the night was Ryan Strome on all fronts.. not his biggest fan but he dropped the gloves when someone had to... he had energy throughout the game.

I don't think any trade is worth making at this point.. this team is about to drop a bunch of games in a row, including the Devils' games. Schedule has not even gotten crazy yet at all...

After seeing Ottawa play and how they have improved, I have to believe that Marc Crawford has helped out a lot... and he should be our next coach.

When so many players are underperforming, it is chaos from the bench.

Another less than quality start by Thomas Greiss. Absolutely, no doubt, the team mailed it in for the third period, but before that we were outshooting Toronto 28-21 through 2 and down 3-1. It was yet another night, by my count at least the 4th or 5th time in the last 6 games where Greiss was outplayed by the opposing goalie.

You are absolutely right. Most people on here cant see it, but there is no way we should have committed to this guy as a #1 for three more years, when there is the possibility of a guy like Ben Bishop and others that could potentially be out there. Except for the odd game here and there, Greiss has not been god for 2-3 weeks now, pretty much right after he signed the extension. The team has been winning with its offense scoring 4-5 goals a game.

Honestly, I thought the Isles played pretty good for the first and second periods. And then in the third just **** the bed. Andersen really shut them down all night long.

I agree.

Isles looked really good for parts of the game and Anderson was spectacular. He was due for a string game - has been terrible since Jan 1.

Leafs had a breakout 3rd period and the score is crazy but I will stick by the isles - it's one loss. Forget it and move on.

This is a much better team than the one I dumped on for the first half.
