Here's two pathetic key takeaways:

Deslaurier is healthy and DB has been waiting to put the paperwork through to get him off IR.

The Flyers continue to pay for the newly acquired Kuzmenko and Pelletier, but unsure if they'll arrive in time to practice or play.

Seriously though, wtf is the hold up? Please no one say, "Visa issues" because that should have been settled on the very same day.

Stupid question, but if “visa issues” exist for any certain amount of time is the trade forced to be rescinded? If so what happens to any stats that happen at that time?

I was looking for a good primer to explain what's going on, since I didn't know myself, and this seems to cover everything that's going on pretty well.

tl;dr appears to be that there's a 30-day grace period that Canada extends to players coming to join a Canadian team on a US visa (which Farabee availed himself of; this never had to apply to Frost because he's Canadian), but the US doesn't offer a similar grace period, so a non-American playing for a Canadian team that is traded to an American team has to go through the visa application process on the fly. It's apparently easier for Pelletier than Kuzmenko, but it seems that both are currently caught up in paperwork hell.

This seems like serious logistical issue for non-Americans being traded from a Canadian team to an American team. Tkachuk had no issue going from Flames -> Panthers, obviously. I still don't really get it though.

I have no clue how pretty much anything in life works, man. The more I try to understand anything the less I think I'm even based in reality and existing.

1st time in my miserable life and I've given up..... I TOO hope they tank :pout:

"Bartender !!, another white claw lime hard seltzer PLEASE" 🥴
Why lose hope? The plan is obviously now to sign and trade for our stars. The same plan the Flyers have had for the last 30 years. Sure it's never worked before but Danny definitely has it figured out.

THIS VERSION HAS A GUY SCATTING.

I may have to recycle this.

Black Market has always been my favorite example of Zawinul at work. And Weather Report overall. They make a great soundscape. I don't think anyone has gotten more out of a synth than Zawinul. It's him and the guy from Aphex Twin on an island, and then everyone else.
