I think Jonesy makes a pretty good point about Simmonds' decision to square up (that if he didn't, McIlrath tries to bait him into a fight by running someone).

The refs let Simmonds & McIlrath go forever for a reason. They didn't want to leave anything left for the rest of the game.

Please no one suggest any picks for Streit, at his salary he isn't going anywhere , like 100% lock. He is one tiny step above Manning, he's too slow. Even 3 mins of PP, his specialty , he does nothing.

Funny seeing the "Undertaker" , Rags fans are so delusional.

The Rangers days are numbered. McDonagh, Girardi, Staal, Lundqvist, are all at or approaching the the end of their best years. Not sure why they would trade Duclair. Doesn't seem like they have a good prospect pool. Pens are in the same boat as well which is nice.

McDonagh is only 26

But they do have a good amount of aging talent, practically no prospects, and they've traded a lot of picks away.

They've gone full Holmgren.

It's pretty basic knowledge that's how it works. You answer the bell or they'll make you pay (unless you really can't go-You can fall back on The Code rules).

It's dumb they would even suggest he didn't have to go, even if it hurts the team temporarily.

Roenick has issues with us

Or Millbury has already brainwashed him. I expect us to come back next period. Our biggest threat on the Rags is Lundquist.

Roenick says almost anything for attention. Has a history of such things. Remember this vessel of goodwill from 2004?

On Wednesday, Bettman told a Toronto radio station that Angus should have called a high-sticking minor against Sabres defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick, an infraction that cost Roenick a tooth and seven stitches. Bettman also acknowledged that the $91,463.41, which represents 1/82 of Roenick's annual salary, is a "severe" penalty for throwing a water bottle.
"He forgot that the NHL merged with the WWF and we hide razor blades in our pockets and cut ourselves so we can get calls," Roenick said after Thursday's practice at the Flyers Skate Zone. "Somebody better remind him we did that.

"I'm just surprised that you can get fined $91,000 for throwing a water bottle on the ice. It's like fining Gary Bettman $91,000 for throwing all those lies about the bargaining agreement coming up. He throws those around like they're candy. The NHLPA should fine him for those."

Roenick was referring to the ongoing negotiations between Bettman and NHL Players Association representative Bob Goodenow, during which Bettman has cited how many teams are losing money.

The league's current collective bargaining agreement is set to expire in September and there's widespread belief there will be a work stoppage next season.

Roenick has two years remaining on a contract that pays him $7.5 million a year and said he could afford to walk away from the game. But he wonders what kind of league allows a player to get high-sticked, then suspends him for it.

"I have 16 years in the league," he said. "If I don't play again after this year I've had a pretty good career. I'd live comfortably and have a good family. (Bettman's) still going to have to deal with a sputtering league. I've been here a long time. He's not intimidating me. He can say anything he wants. All I know is 10 years ago this league was pretty damn good. When did he come into term?"

I don't see them winning a cup with this team either. They don't have many trade options and there are just too many teams in the league that are clearly better.

I think Roenick has decided the Flyers shall be the heel tonight, is all it is. He often does that with one team, creates a story line.

The Rags will prob throw another pile of assets at a guy like Marleau at the deadline too. Classic Rags.
