As hard as these losses are to take, it is far better for the long run....as long as we can get one of those top 5 picks in this years draft, that is key.....and perhaps make a run at Rantenan also.....

only problem with taking a run at him is..he is 28 and you are gonna get the authentics even more "pumped up" thinking they are closer than they are

Yeah...that is an issue...perhaps get him on a 6 year contract if possible and with the cap going up we can make it work...

Caps broadcast: "The Caps only have 12 shots in the last 40-(whatever) minutes... they have four goals"

Other than the McMichael goal, where he left space up top, Fedotov was pretty much left out to dry on the Caps' goals.

Lindgren's numbers weren't great either but he came up huge on some high danger scoring chances - including the Foerster bid at the end.

About what you'd expect in a game with two backup goalies.

Ask yourself why Rantanen would sign a 6 year deal to play for the Flyers? If he goes to free agency, he is going to get paid. Why would he choose the Flyers and for 6 years, not 7?
7 years at $15 million?

I attribute most of his safes to the lack of skills on the Flyers side (granted, Foerester did not have much room or time to react).

Reading posts re: how Ābols is good at communicating the coach messages to Michkov as he speaks fluently both English and Russian. This is intangible I can get behind, not the Deslauriers-type ''CULTURE'' bs
In Russian from Abols: "Torts says try the lacrosse, goalie catches right" :sarcasm:
