once again its 3-0. Hank is playing lights out and the rangers will probably score some more

No. Stop. This kind of **** logic is how teams revert to playing poorly and feeling ****** about themselves. Poor discipline.

Some posters are getting ridiculously cocky about the team around here.

Doesn't matter. You don't want to give that power play an easy one and cut the lead to two when it should be three. I know Washington has been slumping but they're still a pretty good team and there's 40 minutes left.

Excellent point. You don't want to give the opposition any opportunity to feel the least bit confident. Never let them off the hook, don;t let them breathe. Play smart, keep up the pressure.

Eh... it was kinda a weak call, but you get what the refs are trying to do. In a game that looks like a potential blowout, you want to try to keep things under control for as long as possible. Why let the Caps players try to police it themselves and have it escalate like crazy?

Now, I'm not saying it will be a blowout, but the weak call made sense to me.

I don't really fault Kreider either. It's well established that he needs to have a physical edge to his game to feel involved and be at his best. Sometimes, this comes with the territory.

I don't think 3-0 is a good reason to take dumb penalties though. 3-0 is not an insurmountable lead and 5 on 5 we didn't have a good period there. Add to that the fact that the Caps are awesome on the PP (not lately), you have a bad penalty.

Yes, it's something that happenes all the time. But when the guy taking the weak penalty take way to many equally stupid penalties, it becomes more than just bad luck, it becomes symptomatic.
Tough to get on Kreider, he has been one of the bright spots this year

People need to calm down

Sorry, it just bugs me that Kreider is in the box for 2 every game, count on it. I love his overall game so much. Sometimes it is carelessness, on his part. He just needs to cut down on this for his good and the teams good. Kreider is one big fast machine, I love watching this guy on a great breakaway chance.

I didn't understand that, TBH.

For a second, I thought the crowd was under the assumption that Holtby started the game.

Holtby is a good goalie that just hasn't had a good season, and has always played well against us. He will have a bright future, this year just might not be his year.

holtby has been tough against us historically

right now its pretty much an asskicking

If we're up against a meh PP, then sure, but you're giving a PP in a game you're trying to slow down and melt down to an elite PP team at the end of a period which means they'll be able to come back with Ovi, Backstrom, Green for the entire two minutes if they don't score.

So that's a bad penalty? What is it, then, when it happens 2084730452375342975 times during the game but not called? Sheer luck?

A bad penalty in terms of timing.

Was it soft? Probably, but Kreider could have avoided it all together. Id just like to see him play a more disciplined game.

Maybe he is building a reputation and that is a call thats not made on him if he has a more clean cut rep?

Not a terrible penalty, but its Kreider, again, and you cant have a player that puts your short handed literally every game.

first of all he doenst go for 2 every game thats a little harsh. He is young and pretty much the most physical player on his line.
