Ohhh... Zell is out a third game in a row. Derek Lee said he would ask about that situation if it happened that Zell sits out a third game (this game) in his Dawn of the Duck article yesterday.
Oh I got that answer.

Well, umm, Zelly is a great kid real coachable, and it’s a tough situation to be in. He wants to play and you love to have that. He brings it to the rink everyday, ready whether his number is called or not. He’s like Brock McGinn, I wish I had 100 zelly’s. You know obviously we are trying to win games and develop these players. Not ideal to have one sitting every 3-4 games, but Zelly is handling it like an absolute professional. It’s tough when you’re winning games, to change the lineup. I’ve been itching to put Ross Johnston on that line with Leo and Z, just can’t find the wire cutters to clip Killorn off of Leo’s wing.

If Cro is smart, the answer should be an easy one "Nothing against Zell here, we're just rolling with the group thats gave us wins the past few games. The guys are playing well and we didnt want to screw up the momentum we have right now. We've had discussions and he understands the current situation."

Don’t overthink it. A simple “I don’t know” should suffice.

“He's a good teammate,” Cronin said of Zellweger. “He works hard.
He's doing what he has to do to get back in. He's ready to go. And when he gets his opportunity, he'll do well.

I wasn’t far off …

Seattle played last night.. Pound them early and often.. And Capitalize on your chances.. Hard low shots.. Screen and tips work wonders... Get it done.. !!!

I loved this part of it

“(Mintyukov) is a work in progress. He still sees himself as an offensive guy, which he should do because he's got an offensive history. But again, it goes back to the value system.
I think the more that he values playing defense—he knows exactly what he needs to do. (Assistant coach) Brent Thompson does a great job with him, has a really good relationship with him. (He) tries to educate him on when to get up the ice offensively and when not to. I see him making progress. He's starting to get better defensively.
I’ve got to be honest with you, I don't really focus on his offense because that's going to come naturally. I try to focus on his defensive awareness and his commitment to be on the good side of puck battles.”

I know this was just in relation to Minty who does need to focus on improving his defensive play, but if Greg's general philosophy is that offense is just going to come to these kids naturally, it sure would explain a lot.
