  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
Yes, that name (Peca) stood out to me. I couldn’t remember a Peca playing for us, and the only one I could think of was the Peca who played for the Islanders. Maybe we are both thinking about Daddie Peca - idk?
I remember Mike Peca more as a Sabre during our playoff rivalries in the late 90s early 2000s.

After some thorough investigation (i.e., one google search), I found that the Peca who played for us is a certain Matthew Peca. (<- there's a link here, it's just not highlighted)

You just triggered some serious PTSD in me. Early COVID days were terrifying.

I haven't felt that scared about the future of humanity since this morning.

lol I said "Wish we had a Tank commander like Due Doughty" and posted this image

Ugh if only Peterka was there.

I think I'd start a poll on the main boards... Best draft in history?

Nah that lineup was a blessing, we needed to completely bottom out for good draft picks.

His 2020-21 line-up was almost just as bad but I don't think he was trying to tank... I mean, we wouldn't have reached for Tyler Boucher if we were... That's the scary part about Dorion.

5 years ago today, the Sens played their last game of the regular season before the league shut down due to COVID. IIRC the Sens played the LA Kings, in what was an important tank game. The GDT was epic (looked for it but couldn't find it. Help!) and the Sens came through! Lottery odds were affected, and even though the Sens ended up only picking 5OA with their pick, the pick they had from San Jose ended up #3OA, and the rest is a historic draft outcome that is majorly affecting the team as it is today.
What a terrible time ensued.

that roster is depressing lol

That roster is so ugly, I think I missed the boat on being a NHLer for the Sens when I didn't high five Dorion when he was doing door to door delivery of Gabriel's pizza flyers.

What a horrible nightmare (that we lived day after day after day...), it appears to be a thing of the past after 8 years in purgatory.

Yes but Ryan was still a top 6 forward. :sarcasm:

Did Tierney have more assists than Mark Stone at that point?
in 2018-19, Tierney had 9g and 39a, Stone had 33g and 40a, but that was with both Ottawa and Vegas (he had 28g, 34a with Ottawa).

Real shame that Tierney just fell off. After his first season, he was statistically in the top 60 for centres scoring. Tierney legit looked like he could be a 3C going forward or a 2C as a stop gap until we develop better options, but he just seemed to stop giving a flip after 2020. Dude played on the PK as well but just went downhill and played himself out of the league.

Injuries. When he's been in the lineup he's been good.

He was nearly a PPG player in the AHL at 20 years old while 6'2. That's pretty good.
So an oft injured good AHLer over JJ Peterka? Yeah, sticking with NY original "waste of a pick" assessment of this one.
