Hanifin would probably go #1 in this draft right?

Or at least in discussion for the best overall prospect if not taken #1 due to the forward needs of NJ/Phi above us.

would you trade it for Hanifin?

Absolutely. It'd take more than 3rd, honestly.

Think 3rd + Shore or something like that.

Hanifin would be absolutely amazing, though. Get him and a half-decent goalie, and I think we're set for a while.

Kind of funny that the new lottery system seemingly benefits the Stars approach to not making the playoffs which is : just randomly win more games even though it makes no sense. The Percentages of dropping down a couple of spots for the worst teams is now higher than staying and moving up combined.

So hurray i guess ?

it starts with Eakin and Anaheim's pick + #3 to get Hanafin +#12.

I think to get the deal done Dallas would have to give up their 2nd instead and maybe something else on top of that.

I'm not sure I'd be happy giving up #3+ for Hanafin and not having a 1st round selection at all.

man the Stars just missed out on Patrick/Hischier, but you still have the pick of the litter afterword with good quality centers like Mittelstadt, Rasmussen, Vilardi, Glass or very good d-men like Liljegren, Heiskanen, Makar....congrats for moving so far up!

Livid was too strong a word. I'd love to get Heiskanen. I'd still prefer Mittelstadt and Vilardi over him though.

Everyone has the Stars taking Heiskanen, that became consensus as soon as the card was flipped over.

Button has the Stars drafting Heiskanen FWIW.

Yeah I saw that. There's probably a good chance he's the pick.

I keep changing my tune, but the more I've thought about it, I think I would take Heiskanen over Vilardi. Still want Mittelstadt.

What's your thoughts on Heisky?

I don't much about him, besides him playing with Hintz, he's left handed, but mostly plays on the right side. Not overly big and is another offensive D. Not sure how he is in the defending zone

If we draft him and he plays on the left side we could have a future top 4 of Klingberg, Lindell, Honka and Heisky. 4 soft Euros lol

I'm representing the Stars in a mock draft...

Who should I select at 3? Hischier and Patrick gone. Leaning towards Mittelstadt like I've said previously, but want other opinions haha
