Lots of posts and lacking a bit of urgency. Frattin was very good though.

Wonder where he fits in? Maybe go full checking line with Kule, JayMac and Leo, and play Fratt with Lupul and Kadri?
He'll be in for the POs for one of the goons, but hopefully takes that useless pail of garbage MacArthur's spot and Clarke mans the 4th line getting 2 mins/night in the POs

I didn't see much but Kostka and Grabo were really stinking up the joint.

Seeing a lot of the blame being put on kostka. I saw him take a low percentage shot that ended up going up ice, but nothing glaring.

Can you point out a few plays that he made that impacted the result, as I obviously missed them?

He wasn't bad at all.

He wasn't bad at all last night... some people just like using him as a whipping boy when the Leafs lose, because it's easy or something like that.

I remember one or two plays he made where he completely derailed a promising offensive opportunity by being too slow to pass or just getting beaten too easily on the boards.

Thought the loss was Kessel's fault, wasn't he -2?

Man this team sucks defensively. I'm surprised we are where we are.
Been scratching my head and wondering the same thing all season long. I think the main reason is Reimer's improved play and improved PK with McClem. I can't see much improvement in the overall team play from the last few seasons.

Offence has been carrying us and Reimer has been bailing us out. Dion is playing too much, Gunnar's been hurt, Gardiner has been slumping hard, Fraser is on the downswing, and O'Byrne's been so-so. Carlyle has to start making sure the team is ready in these next two games.

Still, I like our chances against Montreal.

Didn't watch the game because of work but mark fraser sure looked bad in the game in 6....

Fraser got beat by Stamkos.

The Phaneuf - Gunnarsson pairing struggled to contain Marty St. Louis all night. But since he is now the NHL scoring leader it doesn't look like others have had much success either.

Important to see if they provide some bounce back tonight. I didn't think they played as bad as the scored showed but there were certainly things to learn from that game, particularly that you don't try to match the system of the other team, you need to stick to your system. Last night seemed more like Wilson was behind the bench rather than Carlyle. That isn't Carlyle's game and I'm sure he let them know it last night.

I know some people are upset about the line changes Carlyle made but after clinching, I think it was a good idea for Carlyle to get some last looks at the depth players on the roster. I don't really expect Kostka, Colbourne and both Frattin and Mac to be making the Game 1 roster.

It was weird game, we didn't stink like we usually did, but it was a little disapointing game where we threw 2 pts away. Also we didn't have much luck, I think we hit post like 3-4 times.

I felt whenever Kostka was on the ice it was like somebody threw a granade there... I hope he sits tonight. Grabo had an 'ok' game, but once again he shot instead of passing, or passed instead of shooting... He is confidence level must be close to 0.

I guess we got to get over it and move on....

Its 100% realistic to expect a lack of urgency in the game after you have clinched a playoff spot.

People are reading far too much into it. Its human nature.

I think the bolded sum the situation up quite nicely. Good post.

I want to see colborne on 2nd unit pp with kadri
joe had a great game last night

What I love most about people making excuses for Grabo is them constantly comparing him to Bozak. Truth be told, Grabo's turnovers just over the blueline or getting got deep is what contributes to us being outplayed. I also love how you posted the same post in two different threads like you are dying to try to make a point.

Bozak turns it over just over the offensive blue-line with a predictable forced pass attempt through a covered lane to Kessel just about every other shift. There are reasons that line gets scored on so much at even strength.
