Gauthier didn't do anything to stay in and whether we like it or not, McKegg can be used to PK. This makes sense.
He'll be gone in the next week once KK and Strome are back.

Gauthier had that nice backhanded pass to..f***, who was it? Blais? And Gauthier draws penalties. McKegg doesn't do anything. And Hunt tries really hard, but he's just...not any good. He's like the modern-day Jed Ortmeyer.

I'm not defending McKegg at all, but I think the coach at least knows that he can toss him out there to be a meat shield on the PK and take some draws.
Whatever, I wish I could be more annoyed at this but I really can't.

I’m not going to get bent out of shape about McKegg vs. Gauthier. They are pretty much a wash and I actually prefer McKegg in the checking role.

Every new coach this team gets there are problems in the first 10-15% of the season. Good lord I can't forget the Sharks debacle under AV. That was a pretty low point.
It's obviously good the record is what it is and they're not playing optimal.
Anyway, hopefully they start to pick the pace up today. I won't worry for at least another 10 plus games.

Nashville will be a rough opponent. They're fast, veteran, and they have a great goalie. I'd like to see the team doing a lot more of what they did against Dallas: activating the defensemen and spamming shots. They're not going to be able to catch this team slipping and hold onto pucks very long.
