I dont care if its still not good, this is so much more tolerable than the previous 2 games

The start of the next period is beyond crucial.

We're up a man. We just scored to tie it. We can come out, get pressure, forecheck, put some rubber on net and get some momentum or we can come out and give up shorthanded chances, miss on our passes and play without energy.

It's 100% up to our boys. How they come out for the second is as important as anything we've seen thus far, IMO.

Still not what I'd call a good period, but night and day compared to the last two games. Team looked way more physical, a refreshing change to see. A huge goal to end the period, team needs to come out flying in the second and grab the lead.

I know some people look at things differently but the team has stopped the bleeding for 2 periods straight now.

I wouldn't go that far but I would say 20 minutes. That last period certainly counts. Third against the Ducks? It's honestly not fair to give them credit for that period. The ducks could have swapped jerseys with the local junior team and went home early. They mailed that third in from several time zones away.

About as big a goal as you can score in the 5th game of the season.

Beside from the penalty, I think Falk played well and did what AV probably asked of him; be a physical presence on the ice. Biron has looked solid. Passes still need to be crisper. Liked the idea of Step/Richards/Zucc. Step and Richards played well together and Zucc is a solid playmaker.

Overall, best period we've has since the Kings game.

would like to see Falk get some more playing time. He was stirring **** up.

Passing needs to be crisper, but otherwise I can't complain. They're playing without their top offensive threat, on the road, against one of the best teams in the NHL.

All things considered the Rangers were pretty damn good. I didn't see most of last game, but what I saw they didn't even compete just like they didn't compete in the Sharks game.

It's true. Our expectations are so low were praising what really wasn't a good period. It wasn't a good period. That's okay when you come out even. Sometimes it just takes a couple good shots to win a game. But that period really wasn't any good. Better than we have been isn't saying very much. Better doesn't mean good. It just means less putrid.

How we start this period, however, is what really matters.
