Only difference between this years team and last years, is that we are not winning (not that we did at the start of the season last year either). Offence is the same, PP is the same, PK is worse due to the Nash trade.
Only real difference between now and when we won last season is that our shot blocking, D, and goalie is worse.
This team has no offence, no preasure in the offensive zone and gets pinned in the D zone way too often. We ended up doing way better last year than we deserved to. Won a bunch of 1 goal games when outplayed

stop saying that. Even if we come back to win it, atrocious first periods don't go away. How many games ago were people saying, it's the first game, it's the home opener, it's the third game, it's the fourth game, it's the first period of the 5th game, it's the 5th game, it's the first quarter, oh there's the playoffs and we're sitting on a park bench by the golf course.
