Value of: 4th overall pick (Utah)

4OA for TK.

Utah gets 1st line winger on good contract, Flyers get 4th 1st rounder of the draft and the highest one. And good chances for 2026 1OA.

Granted, they’re not offering a #4 draft pick. They want everyone to take a mid first and mailoux.
Neither offer is enough for a team to essentially move of the top wants of every franchise. It’s either a Top 4 RHD or a top 6C under 30 (more towards mid 20s) that every team covets. Unless the player has flaws, it takes a massive overpayment (in quality not Habs fans quantity dumps) to make it happen.

If LA decides to move on from Byfield, they could trade him in a package based around another package based around the 4th OA, at the draft, depending on if someone falls down the board or there's a core player (pure center or top pair D) to rebuild around.
Yeah, that’s not going to happen.

Is Larkin willing and available?
Utah Mammoths have some good prospects that should also interest the Red Wings. Could see Utah be willing to take Tarasenko too in an expanded trade!

Kings aren’t trading away their soon to be 1C. He’s the player a team builds around. Trading Byfield creates a huge hole in their upcoming core.

This would be a wild win for Utah. Gotta think they would have to add something fairly substantial.

They would be adding like 8-9M in cap savings. That is the main reason I might be willing to trade Dobson for a cap manageable offensive forward. Also it makes taking Schaeffer #1 an easy choice without having to overthink it
