Montreal is going to take an over-ager who made significant improvements to his game this past year, leading the OHL in goals and finishing second overall in scoring. It’s been a rapid development curve for him, and we like his offensive zone awareness and the fact that many scouts consider him one of the more intelligent players in the draft.

Anthony Romani, C/RW from the North Bay Battalion of the OHL.

The Ducks are going up tempo with their last pick of the round. Anaheim selects offensive defenseman, Noel Fransen.

"Fransén’s offensive awareness and skillset is tremendously impressive. He’s always in attack mode, be it leading a rush or being actively engaged in the offensive zone. He’s extremely confident when the puck is on his stick and possesses a strong work ethic when battling for the puck. Whenever he’s on for a shift, he acts as a fourth forward when he has the open ice, he doesn’t hesitate to pick his spots to be aggressive when attacking. His smarts are evident but having the quick agility and mobility to strike is what makes him dangerous." Peter Baracchini

With the 80th pick the Detroit Red Wings select LW Oskar Vuollet from Skellefteå AIK.

Vuollet is a skilled winger who is a strong skater and can play with a pro tempo. He generates a lot of controlled entries due to his feet. He sees the ice well and can make some plays, but it's his natural skill and ability to shoot from range that drives his offense. He kills penalties in junior, and competes well enough. -Corey Pronman

47. Sam O'Reilly C

@Playmaker09 is PMed

Great pick. I have already drafted Tanner Howe and William Zellers, so I don't see the fit with Utah at this moment of this draft. But he is a really skilled guy. Good potential in 3rd round.
