Sometimes you eat the Bear, sometimes the Bear eats you.

Torts was happier with the team tonight than against Detroit.

And he's right, they played a solid game, but missed on too many opportunities, Brink gets a shot through Shesterkin's arm off the post, York fires high on a wide open top of the net, otherwise Shesterkin did his usual number against the Flyers.

Too many breakdowns leading to odd man rushes, but 2 goals were off deflections that were perfectly placed and another a point shot through a screen. This is what happens when you don't block long range wrist shots.

Couts line was bad, so was Seeler-Drysdale. Frost line was meh.
Cates line had another good game. York-Sanheim were fine.

Richard and Abols had a good showing, Abols isn't fast but he's big, smart and physical with good hands. Richard's speed and skill add a dimension. You can see why they play ahead of Lycksell, he wasn't bad but these two bring more to the table.
Put some points in the Flyers moral victory column. LOL

Rangers are on a roll, 7-0-3 their last ten games.
Primarily driven by Shesterkin, -0.71 (GA-xGA)/60 over that stretch.
And STs, 8 PP goals, 3 SH goals, only 4 SHA, so +7 net over 10 games.

I still keep up on the Rangers because I have a ton of friends who are fans. Just for some scope here, their best writer thinks they’re “a #1 Center and 2 top 4 Defensemen short.” That’s how high the bar for a true contender is.

Does that same best writer think that's easy to come by through pure will and culture?
