Great point, Lemaire is as deserving as several players whose numbers are retired. #1 Center on arguably the greatest team ever assembled.Ah... memories:
- White boards without a single ad.
- The Habs playing an away-game in their red uniforms.
Jacques Lemaire is the very notable odd-man-out in the Habs honour guard of retired numbers. One of the greatest players of the 1970s dynasty who's been deliberately shoved out of view.
That was great night! I was 12, hockey was biggest thing in worldLived it, witnessed it. Man it was fun to watch
It is, but you know what stood out to me most? Danny GallivanAh... memories:

The best play by play man ever. The "cannonading shot"It is, but you know what stood out to me most? Danny Gallivan
Same here. That was an incredible season. As close to perfect as any team has come.Lived it, witnessed it. Man it was fun to watch
They lost 1 game all year at the forum. I think they were 36-1-3 on home ice. If I remember correctly they lost 4-3 to Boston at the Forum.Same here. That was an incredible season. As close to perfect as any team has come.
Lemaire was my favorite player........Dryden and Cournoyer were right there..........Ah... memories:

As I think about it We were very fortunate back then. Not only Danny Gallivan. But Roger Doucet singing national anthem every game. Scotty Bowman, Sam Pollock. Arguably the coach and GM the league has ever seen. The Big Three, they were about best defense ever assembled. With good back up, Nyrop was good #4, Bouchard was the WiFi of his day. Ken Dryden. The best play by play man ever. The "cannonading shot"
