Pretty good game, both teams closely checked, Flyers had a lot of HD chances, couldn't convert, TK hit two crossbars. But they hung in there. No shell at the end, Detroit gets paid too and they have some talented players and playing better under their new HC. Flyers get outshot, but not out chanced, seems they're focused on getting people and the puck to the net, now they have to learn to score off those scramble drills.

Flyers are playing good defense, but not conservative defense, I think Torts grits his teeth when they dump it out of the D-zone, he wants the D-men to skate/pass it out and the forwards not to get too far down ice so D-men have a target. The idea isn't just to suppress shots, it's to take the puck away and flip the ice. Some bad mistakes by Brink and Ersson were erased.

Cates line matched up against the Larkin line, held their own, but also freed the other three lines for better matchups. Couts and Michkov are both playing better, but Michkov needs to fill out and get a stride faster, he has a lot of almost plays you can see him converting in a couple years. Farabee is playing with more energy, think he just needed to clear his head, when players have prolonged scoring slumps they grip the stick tighter.

The Frost line is starting to click, I think they're a good combo for Frost, who looks better when he moves his feet instead of standing there, trying to figure what to do next.

Abols was respectable in his first start, seem to relax as the game went along, but not sure he's really suited to center in the NHL, a little slow. Lycksell - Abols - Hathaway is probably not ideal. Wouldn't surprise me if Abols sticks at LW and Lycksell goes down when Poehling returns.

Zamula may not be fast, but he's smooth and under control with the puck on his stick.
Drysdale had another good game, at this point it's going on long enough it might be real.

Ersson looking like his healthy, rested self, that is, an above average NHL goalie.
On a great run, but needs to show he can sustain with a starter's workload.

idk if he's been told to be more aggressive or he's just got his confidence back but Risto is playing much more offensively aggressive these days. It was nice that they got the extra point in a big 4 pointer type game.
