Things move fast in the NHL. If you would have told me two years ago that Ovechkin’s team would be retooled on the fly successfully as a dark horse cup contender and Crosby would likely be spending his final years in a long rebuild, I would have laughed in your face

I think there’s a handful of us who’ve thought that MM hasn’t been nearly as bad as the general consensus but he definitely was struggling for a while. But he’s really turning it around of late, statement game.

Mann if Mac really wanted that hat trick he probably could have had it with that empty net if he tried a bit harder or was a bit smarter. Learning moment for sure he’ll have a bunch more in his career

Oh he wanted it, but carrying Rakell on his back made it 10x's more difficult. I felt bad for Mac and surprised that Rakell backchecked.

Mac suddenly pacing for his usual 17+25. Need him to keep going, but signs of life.
Poor guy just always seems depressed. You can tell in the post game the sincerity “ nothing beats winning “ when speaking to ally. Goals aside tonight. You can tell killorn vatrano and strome gudas really care a lot about the young guys and try to cheer them up and get them going. Trouba was a captian and one that his ex teammates seem to miss. Verbeek has done a good job of bringing in the right type of veterans character in. They all try hard

The best part of the win is Gibson being the X factor. I don’t know why the Penguins signed that terrible contract with Jarry when Gibson was on the trade market.

Gibby held the door close in the first when the Pens had like 6 or 7 SOG's and we had none. Glad to get great goaltending again and happy that Gibby finally got run support b/c his last three games the other teams pitched shutouts.
