How is Sid still so effective??? I still think about how we were 1 pick away...

Eric Stephens' Athletic article on Z coming back was pretty okay...I liked how he mentioned Z wants to play C and has been most effective there, which we all know. Cronin also continuing to say a lot of positive things about Z. Also said he wants to make sure Z is in the top 6. I get that he wants to keep the Terry line together, and that they're invested in Carlsson, but like others are saying, with McT not doing that much this season, why not experiment a bit more with McT on wing? And why do they have to funnel themselves into the same categories as everyone else? Play the top 3 lines roughly equally and call them 1A 1B and 1C or something, sheesh.

his success has never been reliant on just one or two aspects of the game. defense, faceoffs, passing, hockey IQ, board battles, you name it and he's still great at it. he's probably the most complete star player in league history

his durability doesn't get talked about enough either. since the concussion years, he hasn't missed many games

Yet everyone was crying that they had the audacity to try things in practice

People weren’t pissed that they were trying things, rather that the lines they were trying were odd and not ideal evidently since they aren’t being used tonite.

for anyone who hasn't seen

So, interesting thing... the tweet that was posted in the Cronin thread left off the "he acted like a complete idiot" part. (Typical Sicard leaving out the most important part. The actual Swedish article is paywalled.)

And it really might be the most important part, because it changes the context of the complaint. It's not just "he's an asshole who yelled at us" like some people might try to brush it off as. There's a pretty clear implication that he does not have the respect of the team (or at the very least, doesn't have Silfverberg's respect, and I mean... we're talking about Silfverberg!) if he's doing that and the reaction from the guys he's scolding is just "you look like a moron right now."

I mentioned in another thread earlier, I didn't want to read overly much into it because I'm not an Internet Certified Body Language Expert—but I did notice that in the Philly game when Cronin was yelling at them about having some pride, nobody but Colangelo and Harkins seemed terribly interested, and Fabbri straight up skated away before he finished. Maybe that's still nothing, but... I'm thinking about it again.
