I know it could never, never happen, but I'd be really happy if we acquired Simmonds somehow. He's exactly what a team like this needs. Hard nosed 2 way forward with a knack for the net, in the vein of Dubinsky.

You can't succeed with just one of those on your team.
really like Simmonds

Flyers have the best PK in the league if you look at the underlying numbers, so we need to beat them 5v5. In fact they have the third best PK since the lockout!

How does their corsi on the PK matter, if they're still giving up goals? That just shows that they're giving up high quality chances

The only thing that matters here are goals. They have a very good PK, so do we, but it's not the best in the league.

Very good point. I would agree.

If your special teams overall percentage is over 100% than that's pretty good

Either Hank stands on his head and we all forget his shoddy performances thus far this year, or he lets in a few softies and the board explodes with cries for Talbot.

Personally, I'd feel better with Talbot in nets tonight. Prove me wrong Hank, please.

Biggest test of the season. Were wins against Chicago/Dallas just more teases? Do they slide back down towards .500, or do they start making some noise. Big game.

Hanks has been awesome in the last few games. One of the reasons we have been winning and reason enough to keep him in there.

Agreed. Hank has to play this game.

Big, big game tonight. One of the first truly huge games of the season in terms of post season importance.

I'd love to see Kreider throw his weight around and put some Flyers on the ice. These are the games that he should be able to be a real difference maker in.

Between 12-13 and 13-14 shot attempts correlate to future goals more than twice of what goals does, so no it is not a good measure of the competence of a PK unit.

Shot quality is more important on special teams than it is 5v5, but it is still not more important than shot quantity.

At this point I really would want to say, we can be confident in both goalies. The last couple of games the Team got better and better, except the Pit, but then again that's the Pit ... Anyhow we are rocking, just gotta keep doing it!

This will be a good one!

Let's gooo Rangers!!!

3 yrs ago on this board I posted a trade proposal of quick Simmons and brown for Lundqvist .. I was bashed bad.. Would have been a steal

A pair of good 2nd liners for Lundqvist? That's still insane, and I'm a big fan of both of those players. Rick Nash after requesting a trade netted more than that.

Nevermind 3 years ago, what with all the goaltending depth we had.
