What a loser, I find it harder and harder to even listen to that rat talk.

And that line hasn't even been good lately !
Here is rare footage of a rhino taking a Tortorella in the wild.

Hilarious that Tortorella corrects the reporter's mention of "the Brink line" to "the Catesy line" (0:16).

It’s amazing how a 1 word correction summarizes everything about the man as Flyers coach. What an inconsequential petty remark.

“During the home stand, you talked about the Frost line….”

“The fourth line.”

Head coach John! #halfacentury

Gerald Ford was the president the last time the Flyers won anything!

I didn't even pick up on that one. Don't let any of the media tell him what to call or order the lines, or to compliment a rookie, right Emil Andrae?

EDIT: Never mind. Joke over head syndrome.

Question from a Habs fan who doesn't watch Flyers games, what is going on with Noah Cates? According to dailyfaceoff he's playing 1st line center and 2nd pp and he averages mostly between 16 and 17 minutes per games in the last month. Is he the real deal? Is it deserved?

Here's his stat line in the last 30 days.

It’s no mystery, our coach is an idiot.

Depends on if you think this ~25 game sample size is more indicative of his play than than the previous ~150 games on not.

I can tell you this, the Flyers will give him unlimited chances and infinite ice time with quality wingers to see if he is a 20 point center or a 40 point center. They WILL find out.

Cates has been playing great.

8 goals, 6 assists, 14 points in his last 17 games.

Should've had another assist last night when he won a puck battle in the offensive zone behind the net and sent a slick backhand no-look feed to Tyson Foerster at almost point-blank range, who failed to convert it.

His confidence his high, and he's one of the best forwards on the boards in the NHL. His ability to win board battles and steal pucks is uncanny.

That said, this kind of offensive output from him isn't sustainable. His game is smarts, hockey sense, anticipation, hard work, and a strong stick. He can maybe be a 40-something point player at his ceiling. He's not particularly fast, and he's not what you'd call a high skill offensive player even though occasionally he makes a play that will surprise you.
