I hate the ‘shoulder first’ bullshit. The brunt of the force was taken thru his head.

Each player should be required to control the body and any head contact should be off-limits.

I just dislike pointless hits for players in vulnerable spots. I’m all for a clean blowup, but it did nothing to help the Islanders get possession. You can lead with your stick there and make a better play; you can pull up and just shove Poehling down instead of going through. He couldn’t brace or see it coming anyway. Hits like that serve no on-ice purpose.
