It should be reserved for generational players.

For example, Rick Nash is on the same relative G/gp as Mark Messier was at 43 , the year he retired, in the dead puck era, on one of the least properly built Rangers teams in their entire Original 6™ history.

Mark Messier was a generational talent.

On another note, they are the Buffalo Sabres. It's always peeved me they focus on the Buffalo part so much even though that's not even their team name.

They even went so far to make banana slug buffalos.
