I actually think Drysdale has improved a lot recently. And I thought he was mostly good tonight.

But he took a terrible defensive angle after Laughton's brutal neutral zone turnover which led to CBJ's late tying goal.

If the Flyers had taken either of the Russian forwards, people would have whined for years.
Why are we drafting these big Russians who can't even score in the MHL and VHL!
Just another example of the Flyers drafting size over skill.

I pumped my fist when we drafted Provy. Was the slam dunk pick at the time. Them botching development once again was the problem.
I wouldn't say Provorov was the slam dunk pick at the time.

I badly wanted Barzal at 7. I liked Werenski better than Provorov, but I did still like Provorov even though as the draft approached I felt he was being overrated. Unfortunately, Provorov was the wrong choice over what turned out to be multiple much better players. I don't think botched development is the reason.

Went a pick before Adam Ginning. We got an NHL lock in the second round so can’t complain about that but Hextall should have traded up.

I wasn’t a bang on the table Marchenko guy — he had major tunnel vision in his draft tape — but he had tools/skill for DAYS. Then there’s Serron Noel on the other end of possible results. People can play the hindsight game, but guys like Ginning/Berglund/Gill are nothing and will be nothing. Some guys you don’t see it all clicking, but you understand why it could click. That’s a philosophy this team fails repeatedly.
