Strome vs Strome. Carlsson vs Carlson. Trouba vs Wilson.
At what point does Terry plan to come back ? Seems a bit long compared to other players maternity leaves.

Think something was said that while there's nothing life threatening, the baby had some problems and needs more care? No specifics obviously but I think that's why he hasn't rejoined the team to date. Could probably swing playing at home but the extended road trip is too much time away.

I don't think this is winnable. Washington is on some secret sauce this year.

I don't care about the W/L or at least I won't be disappointed. Just, as usual, I want to see good effort and some sign that they're working on execution of fundamentals, puck battles, and offensive systems. And I really want to see Killorn and Leo separated. Even our fourth line has better chemistry with each other.

Gotta say I agree with Cronin here:
“He’s got that Mike Modano look to him when he's skating through the neutral zone,” Cronin said. “He’s got to establish himself as a driver on a line. You can skate, but you've got to drive. Everything’s going to come through the middle of the ice, most of the time through the neutral zone.

“And then we've talked about it, driving inside ice, getting to the front of the net and stopping there. Get in the offensive zone and pulling pucks off the end wall and building momentum towards the net, okay. Once he gets more and more comfortable doing those things in the interior of the ice, I think his game's going to explode.”

Leo needs to keep the puck and challenge people with it, not make those dangerous high zone passes that he can’t seem to connect on.

Ahlers said the baby came slightly early, so I imagine there is more hospital time than you’d otherwise expect.
Ah that is perfectly understandable. I also now remember when Jiggy had to take a step back during the 2007 playoffs for similar reason and then Bryzgalov got his chance to shut the door on the Minnesota Wild.
Probably my favorite Russian that played for the Ducks. Mintyukov has a chance to overtake that.
You think they'd notice if we swapped Strome's?
Probably only until Washington sees the downgrade in production lol while the Ducks act like they didn't notice anything wrong lol.

The jig is up once Strome whiffs on an empty net.

I remember something similar to this said to Terry by Eakins. Terry was too much a perimeter player with great handles, but couldn't produce offense. Then it finally clicked for Terry in 2021-22.

This year in transition, Strome knows to drop the puck for Terry. Then Strome and Vatrano know to crash the net to act as a screen for Terry's laser shot to either score or produce a rebound. Those shots by Terry are usually in the middle of the ice.
