I don’t see how that’s what you’re getting from this conversation. Saying Shattenkirk isn’t a top pairing D doesn’t mean whoever AV plugs across from McD is. It means we don’t have that player on our roster. McD was a #1/2. When he’s on he’s still a top pair guy. When he struggles, less so. Skjei has potential but lacks consistency and is going to have growing pains. Shattenkirk is a 3/4 top PP guy. Everyone else is a 5/6/7 and that’s what we have on D. We don’t have a true #1 and when McD is off, we don’t have a top pair caliber player.

At least Shatty doesn't have an albatross horrific contract for 8 years. In this day and age, another 3 years at that cap hit with a rising cap, is a very moveable contract. I'd be surprised if he even finished out the contract here.

That is the silver lining. I didn't want Shattenkirk here but for three more years or less, I can deal with it.

Well, you see, looking at this lineup, and through out analysis we do, I just think that the way this looks is if I were a betting man, *chuckles*, I think we need some grit and some strength along the walls, on the ice, and in our lineup tonight, and someone that we know what we can expect everything from tonight so that's why we're moving some players around even though I thought Smitty played real well but I think we need a bit of a different look tonight on the right side so the coaches and I have talked and we think that Steven can step in here and give us some real good minutes by my estimation and we're going to put Marc and Nick together as a pairing because we have a real scientific look at this and felt they had some real chemistry together so that's what we're doing tonight so we're putting Steve with Mac for some minutes but I like to think of it as *chuckle* Steven stepping up for us at a real important time *chuckle*, we played well last game and had some real good looks and I think with a few changes, to our lineup, we're a better team for it.

That is the damn infuriating part of this. Dolan should notice if the Yankees can get away with and do that, then so should we. Plus with the amazing access we have to this team and the front office, well probably never know truly how JG feels about the team. I believe he has the guts and actually wants to go the route that many on here want. As we have both said, Dolan isn't gonna let that happen. Apparently playing in 2-3 home playoff games this year actually will make them more money in the long run smh.

He’s never requesting a trade and is staying in New York. He’s said it a million times. He either wins it here, or doesn’t win it at all.
