I mean the Islanders haven't been much better defensively just they've scored on every single chance and we've blown at least three 2 on 1's and other opportunities.

Like it's his fault trying to save a game as a backup, behind the worst defense in the league.

No but it just looks like today he couldn’t make a save when needed.

Team defense is horrible but even Hank turned his game around and most want a solid effort from their back up.

Today not so much.

I'm trying to laugh this off and just chalk it up to the break, but it's frustrating because this team does have talent, but they play such stupid ****ing hockey. Everyone needs to be better.

The break didn't seem to affect the other team. It's the coach. It happens every time after a long break.

yeah I agree @howztheglass Pavelec has not stand out in this game at all, but the defense effort and puck watching is the main issues in this particular game though.

Think the Islanders are feeling the same way. Today’s game has me on fence with a house clearing—doubt it happens but the no effort is scary. This could get ugly really fast after the next 2 weeks

Doesn’t help that anytime we have numbers it’s obvious to everyone in the arena that they’re not going to shoot so it’s not even a threat. They can completely focus on the pass.

Boo is particularly bad with this. Anytime he has the puck coming down the side with a lane he never takes it, always pivoting out and looking to pass. Gotta change it up sometimes can’t do the same thing every time.

Pavelec has been great for us but starting your backup against one of the best offensive teams in the league is questionable, especially after a 5-day break.

Against a division rival nonetheless when the battle for points is as brutal as it is this season. Hank should have gotten both starts this b2b.

And just like that, Kampfer is with McDonagh. Burn it down.

AV doesn’t have a plan, he just arbitrarily makes it up as he goes.

I’ve learned that straining myself to try and understand his decision making is pointless
