The reporter’s question about how the Flyers didn’t seem to give us any space was interesting. I feel like we rarely have time and space to make plays on the ice. It’s really obvious when you watch games not involving the Ducks. Most of it is due to the speed we play at - but not necessarily footspeed although that’s part of it too.

Our decision-making is often slow and our passing poor. We really struggle in the transition and breakouts. Always feel like guys have a backchecker all over them even when we play a team that isn’t considered “fast.” It’s a combo of a bad system but there’s poor execution too. We give teams a ton of time to set up against us.

As frustrating it is for some to hear this point on repeat, but the issue you have identified is coaching. In an effective coaching system, players don't need to think about there actions as long, they just act. They rely and trust that their teammates are doing the same/right thing, and that predictability speeds things up.

Cronin's system is predictable in the sense that they try the exact same things every game. However, it does not effectively support the players. How many times have you seen a defenseman look up and have no one to pass to each game? There have been multiple veteran players, specifically Killorn, who have said that they go to pass and there's no one there. They don't know where the other people on their line are going to be. That's a coaching issue. It's the biggest issue on the team.

We're 2-12 in our first 2 games on the roadtrip. Now we play Carolina on the B2B.

I'd like to confratulate Carolina fans woth 2 points and their team looking like 2002 Red Wings playing vs Brasil national team.

Get that defeatist attitude out of here. Ducks win 15-0, and Carolina relocates back to Hartford.

(You're probably right.)

And the post gamer will consist of [in Boston accent] ''Guys, it happened because {insert credible reason} and {insert credible reason}. We still have {insert important aspect of the game} to improve though and we're on it"

Some times teams do fall into a rut for some unknown reasons. For example, the Lightning was flying high before going on a west coast trip as they were 20-11-2 (42 pts) on the season.. The went 6-1-0 prior to the road trip. Then they go 0-4 on the west coast road trip, including losses to bottom feed teams like the Sharks and Ducks.

Maybe we're also in a rut on the start of this road trip. Let's see if the boys can bounce and reduce the GA or not get blown out. A win would be great!

Eric Staal jersey retirement ceremony prior to this game, I think it's starting now
Can marty necas’ wife have a kid today

This reminds me of “My Cousin Vinny” and the choices he bad. Collect 200 dollars or get my ass kicked. I mean I could use a good ass kicking, but I’ll take the 200 dollars.

Pretty cool for them. Getzlaf and Staal were such a good comparable in their era. Getzlaf was consistently more physical as well as the better playmaker, but Staal was a force too and much better goal scorer to boot. Both were inconsistent in their efforts, but never when it counted. Both blossomed into great two-way players as well.

So who was better? My heart says Getzlaf. My brain? Also Getzlaf. Am I homer and Staal very well could have been better of the two? I don't care. Getsy was better.

One of the canes announcers says he’s a big fan of our New Jerseys. Oooo and big Leo and nesty have already passed up shots, glorious
