On the one hand, Deslauriers drawing in isn't it, chief, but on the other, Maroon's probably going to punch a face, might as well be Nicky D's.

I mostly like how the Flyers have played in many of the games I have been able to watch this year and don't think we are as far away from being a good team as a lot of people do (I think our defense and goaltending look pretty good now, and we probably just need better forwards). I don't think we should just trade everybody for picks and start from scratch like most on here do.

But there is literally no reason NOT to play Bobby Brink on this roster. We have multiple other forwards who just really aren't contributing in any measurable way.

I’m actually surprised Torts let Drysdale play a couple nights ago with his parents/family in the crowd. Would’ve thought he’d want to set the proper expectations.

Gotta love Torts! Playing in front of family/friends doesn’t matter, only winning.

Because playing Deslauriers is a winning move.
Because playing Staal is a winning move.
Because starting Laughton’s line instead of your actual first line on Pride Night is about winning!

Last game was the best Hathaway has looked in a long time.

The main factor? He wasn't forced to play with the rotting turd that's Deslauriers.

Brink has not played well for a few weeks, probably wearing down, rookie wall and he's undersized.
Minnesota is a bad team, with some big muckers, playing at home, so likely to be a dirty game.
This is the kind of game you use Nick for a few shifts, let him get in a fight and take a Wild player out for a period (5 fighting, 10 minute misconduct).

Brink is not ready for 15 minutes a night, 82 games. He flashes offensive skill, but gets bounced around and is a liability without the puck. Plus, they don't really have a center who can maximize his skill, Foerster is a better fit on the 2nd line (and he's a year YOUNGER than Brink) because he excels at the dirty work (winning board battles) to feed Frost, and they simply don't have a 3C who can take advantage of Brink's skill set.

Atkinson will probably be gone next year and Brink will have a bigger role.
