You should look that up, I'm pretty sure they changed the rule a year or 2 ago if there's blood it's 4. Maybe they saw the replay and saw he got hit the opposite side of the cut which clearly wasn't the cause

I just checked. The wording is deliberately vague ("injury") and lets the referee have the final say.

People have gotten used to the blood standard.
