I mean at a certain point... not admitting your mistake is going to be damning to the young players.

McTavish, carlsson, mintyukov have all struggled w/ cronin system... which are 3 high end picks.
Zegras has struggled (but at least you can see positive in his overall game).

The only young player that is really succeeding in Cronin system is Lacombe (and to a lesser extent Gauthier)

Exactly. I haven't heard a peep from anyone on this team defending Cronin. Speaks volumes that the guy has been here 1,5 seasons, and the young guys can't seem to find anything good to say about him.

They desperately need to start having fun again, on ice and off it. It's crucial for getting their confidence up. Learning what they can do, and what they can't do in this league. Right now I think nobody is learning anything but the stuff you can't do, and it's killing them.

I can't pretend to know what kind of coach Cronin is in the room, but everything I've seen, heard and felt watching these guys play these past few seasons tells me he isn't an NHL caliber coach, at all. Time to move on, and it can't be news to Verbeek either at this point. I also think he has to choose next guy wisely. Repeat of this would not bode well for the future.
