As per the usual David Tippet, who will get sent down to the Pirates on Monday?

This season can be salvaged right now but sending people down to the AHL or calling people up is not going to solve the issues.

Also, Greiss should start from now on. I can't believe they signed Smith for 6 years, the team is stuck with him for 5 1/2 more years. Smith had one great year and the Coyotes gave him the world.

His rough stretch goes all the way back to last year. He had a poor year. Maloney gave him $6million as a reward. He's now flopping and laughing all the way to the bank. On top of it, he's calling out the players in front of him saying things like they're 'afraid to win' and their play 'garbage'. Which I agree with, but that's a whole other matter. He shouldn't be doing that as a teammate.

I won't be an apologist. He's got to step it up.

No problem here man, just tired of people defending smith than what he really is. And time and time again there's nothing done about it it.

The only thing I recall defending was that recent 7 game streak he went on where he played like he was expected to coming into the year. If he plays well and gets blamed for losses, like he was for about 2 weeks and the CBJ game on Thursday, then I'll defend him. Not his fault the offense died.

If he plays like he did against the Oilers and tonight, why would I defend him haha?

He needs something to be pissed off about. I want a Scott Burnside type article for the making of the Canadian team and see everyone ripping him. No way in hell he makes the team, but he needs to hear it from someone outside of the organization, because the organization is giving him too big of a leash right now.

Just got back from the game. I know its cathartic for many of you to express extreme negativity. Its never as bad as you think, and its never as good as you think. This one was hard to swallow though. Even me, usually very positive about the majority of the team, wants to see Greiss on Tuesday. Also, jesus I want OEL back...

The guy way too quickly, forgot that he used to barely hold a back up's position. He needs to get over himself and go back to playing an honest game and being a good team mate. Then we might win again.

We have 2 wins out of the last 10 games and 5 wins over the last 16 games. Something is terribly wrong here.

Just to expand on that, 6 wins since mid November, Greiss and Smith each with 3 of those.

I was in traffic last night and was listening to Gary Lawless' (reporter/columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press) radio show. Some of you may remember the name from our bankruptcy days, he is no friend of this team or of Arizona and he was talking about the Olympic roster.

He said he had been speaking to someone 'in the know' and that someone had corrected his goalie predictions and told him the trio was Luongo, Price and Smith. Lawless then spent the next minute or two singing Smith's praises and building him up.

Take it for what its worth, but Smith's head be me even more swollen come Tuesday.

As for the article you're looking for, there isn't really an article, I think zerekstar is just referring to the post game comments we've been hearing lately from Smith. For example tonight

"We continue to throw pucks in the middle of the ice, don't get it in at their blue line, don't get it out at our blue line and don't get saves we need at the right times. That's a recipe for disaster."

The problem is he's 100% accurate haha, he's just the worst person on the team to be saying it. And since we have so little leadership on this team and a bunch of passengers as has been mentioned, there is no one else saying it. Now that Doan is back hopefully we hear someone else's voice other than Smith's, because I literally never hear anyone comment about the play of the team which is extremely concerning in terms of the amount of leaders.

Smith is right in almost every single one of his comments, he just needs to pass his notes to Doaner or Yandle and let them read them.

I am paraphrasing here, but I remember when Stempniak arrived from Toronto; he went on his Ovechniak tear and said he loved playing on this team.

The thing he loved was that every player had a role and a job that they were expected to do. If everyone played their role and did their job the team would win, and as a player he loved having things so clearly defined for him and the team spirit it fostered.

Looking at how things stand now, do you think everyone has a clear role to play and job to do, and are accountable for that. I would say that things have changed around here.

I don't know what needs doing exactly but it seems clear that it needs to be something. I missed tonight's game, sounds like that was a good thing from what I have read, but as others have said there are way too many passengers on this team and not enough drivers.

I didn't read a lot of twitter in those days, my loss because that would have been good reading.

Who knows if it has any teeth, but Lawless is the last guy who would say anything positive about anyone involved with this team, so he definitely believes his source.

Selfishly, as a fan of this team, I hope it is wrong. I was not expecting him to make the roster, based on his play this season; and think it would be better for him to be passed over. He could use the rest, humbling and motivation.

Ok, I just got back from the game.

First, I can't believe we're stuck w/Smith for another 5 years.

Second, we need to go out and get a mo****frickin top 6 player and another player to replace Halpern.

If we could go out and get another bottom 6er, I'd even relish removing Chipchura from the roster. Both of the bottom pair guys need to be outstanding PKers, because our PK absolutely blows.

GMDM has got to do something.

And for the Love of everything Holy, put Greiss in and let him stay in until he looks terrible.
