JT is a lot better player than he was several years ago. He was a pretty good player then but somewhere between a 2nd and 3rd liner and kind of stalled. After his second move from Tampa to Vancouver he took charge of his own game. He's very good when he has space and he's great in battle areas. A bit of a nasty edge and that helps. He reverse hit Hague who is a big big guy and knocked him on his ass. It's a kind of game that I think Cuylle could develop. Going into next year I'd be looking to put JT between Lafreniere and Cuylle. That could be a talented and very hard line to play against.

Speaking of Cuylle......love that hit on Pietrangelo. Hague again is a big big guy and had the edge in the fight but that's okay. It wasn't a beating....Cuylle's able to hang in there okay.

It's not a man vs. woman thing for me. I just think hair that long looks awful on a man.
I'm with you - have had my hair high and tight for decades (the first few were a service thing, the last few were a force of habit thing). When I see top knots and ponytails on blokes now I kinda cringe. having said that the "mullet" is back with a vengeance as are bad moustaches. Walking through the city on a Friday night you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were on the set of a late 70s/early 80's porno.

Good win. Good third period. This team needs to just keep things simple and not fall asleep on their assignments.
Also, they really need another D who can move the puck or skate it out of their end. The team gets pinned down way too often. I think Jones would help, but its probably a Drury decision to go with Vak. To me, Vak brings very little to the table.

Miller certainly has improved, and it's almost 100% he wouldn't be the player is today without being traded (twice), but he was very much a top-6 player here and you could almost argue, a first-liner.
He was top-4 in forward scoring his last 2 full seasons, and even ended up 5th in scoring in the season he was traded (their were injuries elsewhere), including being tied with Zucc for most EV assists.
It took Kreider until he was 30, in his 52 goal season, to go past Miller's 56 pt season when he was 23.

If we keep Miller we end up with a flawed 60-70pt player IMO. The real question though will always be; what if we had have traded him for actual assets?

If only we got him at the deadline last year. We may have gotten past Florida.
