ROY DU NORD!!!
Why Hopefully? What odds would you put on Michkov getting a 100 pts season?
It doesn't even have to be 100 points.

If the Habs have a 90 point player this season I will be shocked.I think Caufield hits 40 if he plays 72 games or more. No player will get more than 90 points this season.
I say no. Caufield could score 40 but I doubt he stays healthy. A 100 points? Only 12 players did that last year. Guaranteed noIs this the year we finally have a 40 goal scorer? I doubt we have anyone in this organization that can eclipse 100 points.
Last 40 goal scorer- 1994
Last 100 point scorer- 1986
Hard to believe we have been this starved for star players for this long.
Heads didn’t roll when they passed over Bossy, Denis Savard, former Red Army elite (Bure, Mogilny, Fedorov), Iginla, Marian Hossa, Simon Gagné, Getzlaf, Cater, Perry, Giroux, Aho yada yada yada….
The funny thing is the defense was the strongest point of the team beside the multiple 80 points players and 35+ goals scorers and the goalie obviously.Last Stanley Cup win - 1993. Getting to the finals was nice, but they never raised a banner for that and never carried that momentum into the next season, finishing last. They rarely had the talent in the last 3 decades to challenge for a Cup.
The 1993 season they had 4 players who had 80 points or more and 3 players that had 37 goals or more. Obviously having one of the best goalies of all time helped, but as Price showed it takes more than top goaltending to win a Cup.
I don't think anyone is going to hit 80. We might not have a 70 point player...I think Caufield hits 40 if he plays 72 games or more. No player will get more than 90 points this season.
I think Nick hits 70-71 points if healthy. Potential for more in optimal conditions.I don't think anyone is going to hit 80. We might not have a 70 point player...
Im a child of the 60s and 70s years. This thread makes me sad. No offense. Good quality threadIs this the year we finally have a 40 goal scorer? I doubt we have anyone in this organization that can eclipse 100 points.
Last 40 goal scorer- 1994

Do we "lead" the league in these two categories?
It's pretty remarkable to have achieved this... though not so surprising when you consider that we had Houle/BargainBin running the team for about half that time
Caufield does 40+ np, but I think Suzuki does 30g 50+ assists. Could be 90 point. Is this the year we finally have a 40 goal scorer? I doubt we have anyone in this organization that can eclipse 100 points.

3-years after… and it was due to 3-consecutive years of 1st round playoff lossesWell in the case of Denis Savard, the GM was fired soon after and we got Serge Savard as GM. As for the others, we could not evaluate properly until our guys were ultimately revealed as mistakes.
But we live in a different World of instant gratification where things have to happen now. And prospects have to deliver short term. And with social media and analytics, it's easier to come up with an evaluation quickly and for the response to have an effect. Esp. now where it has been DECADES without a star forward, I think the fans have reached their limits. And also linked to the mediocrity, Habs fans do not give the benefit of the doubts to management like they did in the past. I know some people that have quit watching the Habs. You have seen the empty seats of recent years. I think the Michkov move, the honeymoon with this management is coming to an end. Last year people were ready for a tank for example but this year they won't be as patient. You will see some frustration brewing.
Then a few years from now if we have trouble scoring goals and Michkov is lighting em up with the Flyers......

Obviously, Vegas and Seattle don't really count as they are so new.
For the 40 goals, we are dead last and the only other that was in the 1990s is Arizona (4 years later).
For the 50 goals, Colombus, New Jersey and Nashville never had a 50 goalscorer. In the ones that did have one, Carolina is last by 8 years, followed by us. There are several other teams in the mid/late 90s.
For the 100 points, Colombus, New Jersey and Nashville never had a 100 points scorer. In the one that did, we are last by 4 years.
Lane could. Unlikely, but the ceiling is there.Suzuki is at best an 80 point player. The Habs have no one in the system currently who could someday put up 100 points.
It doesn't even have to be 100 points.
That has to be tongue-in-cheek, right? Michkov and it's not even close. Even if he ends up busting, he's got a greater chance now because Suzuki isn't even a first line player, let alone one who could put up 100 points under current NHL conditions.
I don't think anyone is going to hit 80. We might not have a 70 point player...
Cmon guys, Nick had 66 points last season with just 46 games of CC support. Otherwise he was alone. I expect him attacking 80, if they can improve PP it could be even more, but 100 is unrealistic.I think Nick hits 70-71 points if healthy. Potential for more in optimal conditions.
