I like it. Connor has been a no show and Kreider is a much better fit for the 4th line role
Agreed. And I am seeing it for multiple sources that believe Kreider is in. I felt he earned a role after that Sweden game & this will be a north/south battle which doesn't bode well for Connor already playing out of his normal on the 4th line.

If Connor was still getting a scoring role deployment I'd prefer him over Kreider there as the upside is much higher. But for a fourth line role, definitely Kreider, that's not putting Connor in a spot with much chance to succeed.

Need something from the MIA guys (Matthews, Hughes, Miller, Fox)
Matthews and Miller have to be 2 of our best players tonight. Can't just come down to Eichel/Larkin & the Tkachuks. We need them to step up and produce as 2 of the best offensive talents we have had the past 6 years. These are "money" players. Paid a shit ton of money, now show us why on the ice..

Connor has done nothing, sadly. Patience has been used up. Kreider brings physicality and net-front presence.

I'd love to see him get in Binnington's face. A patented meltdown in a losing effort would be glorious.
Ideally he gets in binnington’s face, binnington goes full binnington and gets thrown out. Everybody wins

Might be bias since I was in Montreal for it, but I almost feel less of a weight placed on this one. That one in Montreal had the first time in 11 years to it, kind of a test of where they are with this gen of players. They've already proven that they belong and can play with Canada at this point. So the only thing left is the "4 Nations Title" which is just a bit of a hollow thing absent all the countries that weren't allowed to play in it (not just Russia, but the Czechs, Slovaks, Swiss, Germans, everyone that could have participated in a qualifying event). The Olympics is the big thing for sure.

Obviously hope they win, but already having a "B.o.B" win over Canada in the bag gives a lot of confidence for next year.

President Trump called the boys and they’re pumped!!!

When he started off with the beginning of Herb Brooks speech I swear I was about to hip check my 2 year old Daughter and then drop the gloves with my 4 year old daughter right in the living room. Fired me all the way up!!!!!

ABC used that opening Saturday night, nothing new here.

US losses tonight you know who will say what's 4Nations...lol.

Always tough to beat the same team twice in a tournament. Three keys to victory:

* Strong physical/defensive play
* Hellebucyk holds down the fort
* The likes of Matthews, Hughes, and Connor steps up
Absolutely hate this cliche, statistics don’t back it up. If you beat a team in a first matchup, you’re more likely to beat them a second time.
