You mean it's not a good look that the NHL is reporting incorrect news about the tournament on its own website?

I think they've loved the chaos. It's generating press, which is what they care about.

Unironically it is keeping the tournament in the conversation for this entire stretch in between the games lol it is ridiculous but it's what's happening.
Hmmmm....maybe you both are onto something here??🤔

You're in the wrong thread, baby brother
nope - I live in the good ole USA
just being honest
US hockey has come a long way......but has a long way to go

looking at the betting odds this game is a toss up
but US tendies are definitely better
US needs to fire a ton of pucks on net to improve chances and shut down MCjeezus, MAC & Crosby

Pesce I guess makes sense with him and Slavin being tight...still thought Carlson would be the name to come but not a great selling point to fly here to likely sit in the stands. Tage needs to show up every time USA asks so that makes sense for him to be there...plus not far to travel.

Brett Pesce?

I mean, just off the top of my head I'd rather have brought in John Carlson, Mikey Anderson, Brandon Carlo, etc.

Prime Cally would have fit this team so well. 2 way balls to the wall player. Guy played such an honest hard working brand of hockey. I hate the rangers but I was always a fan (quietly) of Callahan.
Dustin Brown, Ryan Callahan, Ryan Kesler, David Backes.

The 2010 American teams had some really gritty, hard hitting power forwards.

Absolutely. That 2010 Olympics team put us back on the map and he was a big reason for that. Gritty and skilled players that we started developing left and right. He was a badass in the CHL as well...good dude.

Oh my, this has gotten deep already..
took 5 minutes 😂

It's insurance for the McAvoy spot, so they probably weren't bringing in another lefty with Werenski-Slavin-Hanifin-Sanderson already there. They used McAvoy with Werenski last Saturday and with Slavin on PK1. Werenski was on PP1 and Fox was on PP2. Pesce just profiles more like the type of guy they'd want to use than Carlson based on McAvoy's usage. If Fox had been the one who got hurt then I think Carlson would have been the more natural sub.

I think the biggest upside we have tomorrow is we have some extremely talented guys who have had prime roles while not delivering offensively (e.g., Hughes, Matthews, Miller). Having 1 or 2 of these guys show up offensively for the championship would be huge, a la Rocco Grimaldi at the 2013 WJC.
Add Kyle Connor to that talented group that hasn't produced. I'll give Matthews a bit of a pass, since his defensive play has been stellar.

Binnington is their Achilles heel. Light him up.
