Brady's not afraid of Tom Wilson lolHagel and Bennet aren’t scary. Now if Canada had Tom Wilson, that would be a lot different. IMO if Wilson was on the ice the Tkatchuks don’t fight.

Brady's playing boys....
Sorry Walt..maybe next time..
The ball is in Team USA’s hands, not the NHL. Quinn can be added to the roster if they rule another D out for the game due to injury/illness. Just like Canada with Makar/Harley.Have they? Media reports have said otherwise and I personally haven't seen the NHL give a definitive answer. Maybe I missed the final decision.
Also forgot Makar , for one game. Ya Sanderson looked pretty good in the one game, Sullivan said he liked his game.So it’s just one then?
Harley is there as the extra guy in case another D goes down before the Final.
Hughes is on the west coast and (I’m pretty sure) doesn’t want to travel if he’s going to be like Harley, watching from the press box. The US has Sanderson there to do that, don’t they?
Kevan Miller and Trent Frederic have fought Tom Wilson no problem. My money is on Brady Tkachuk with Wilson.Hagel and Bennet aren’t scary. Now if Canada had Tom Wilson, that would be a lot different. IMO if Wilson was on the ice the Tkatchuks don’t fight.
Is Harley allowed to play in the finals or not? I've seen reports he's allowed regardless, haven't heard otherwise. If so, Quinn should be able to play. The ball is in Team USA’s hands, not the NHL. There is really only 3 D-Men in the conversation as far as the category goes. It's between Leetch\Hughes\Housley.This is so ****ing stupid. If both teams agree just let the damn kid play.
This game could be the most watched game in the US in years and he's arguably the most electric, entertaining dman in the country's history.
Only if the original D-Men are down to 5. If there are 6, no.Is Harley allowed to play in the finals or not? I've seen reports he's allowed regardless, haven't heard otherwise. If so, Quinn should be able to play.
I'm not doubting your answer, but do you have a source to that?Only if the original D-Men are down to 5. If there are 6, no.
I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread. Just go back a few pages, my friend.I'm not doubting your answer, but do you have a source to that?

Yeah these best on best international tournaments always create huge spikes in the popularity of the sport. The 2010 Olympics had the same effect.I'm seeing so much chatter on YT and X about this game, from people with little to zero interest in hockey.
This might be the most-watched game in NHL history in the USA, but our all-world d-man can't play because of a pedantic devotion to "rules".
He’s allowed to…if Canada sits someone out (defense) for whatever reason they want to give…same as the US with QuinnIs Harley allowed to play in the finals or not? I've seen reports he's allowed regardless, haven't heard otherwise. If so, Quinn should be able to play.
There’s a very key restriction. He can’t play without Canada scratching someone. Or else Canada would have too many players. I don’t understand how so many people are missing this.Yes, he is, just as he was allowed to play against Finland. Hockey Canada and the NHL reported Harley as a scratch against Finland. He was added to Canada's roster without restrictions.

So you guys can see where I'm not getting a definitive answer.I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread. Just go back a few pages, my friend.![]()
For injury/illness, but that's not what Friedman said. Harley is available regardless of injury/illness.He’s allowed to…if Canada sits someone out (defense) for whatever reason they want to give…same as the US with Quinn
I wonder if Quinn Hughes doesn't want Sanderson or Hanifin pushed out, when he took himself out of the event to start with. He’s allowed to…if Canada sits someone out (defense) for whatever reason they want to give…same as the US with Quinn

I've read that it is only if one of the original 6 are sick because of injury or sickness but there's so much going around...So you guys can see where I'm not getting a definitive answer.
Friedman said the same thing @William H Bonney said, and Cooper alluded to that too during one of the post game pressers. And if that's the case, Hughes not being eligible is BS, Canada is getting the preferential treatment.
For injury/illness, but that's not what Friedman said. Harley is available regardless of injury/illness.
Again, does anyone have a real answer to my question? Not just what they think.
I've gotten to the point where I don't care. If he wants to play, let him play.I wonder if Quinn Hughes doesn't want Sanderson or Hanifin pushed out, when he took himself out of the event to start with.
And that's fine, I heard otherwise (Harley cleared to play for Canada regardless of Makar's availability) but I wasn't sure if I missed another report.I've read that it is only if one of the original 6 are sick because of injury or sickness but there's so much going around...
I don't know which end is up anymore.![]()
Yea exactly, Harley was added to the roster because Canada was down to 5 D. Quinn could be added to the US roster if they only have 5 D available. The US has been consistent in saying all 6 D are available. Until the US says otherwise, Quinn is not eligible. They’ve been very consistent on this. The same rules apply for both countries.Point me to your evidence. Everything we've seen from Hockey Canada, the NHL, Friedman, Cooper, etc. is that Canada could have played Harley against Finland and could play him in the championship if they wanted to. If they scratch another defenseman for *whatever reason*. You don't have to scratch a player from your lineup if they're not eligible to play. Harley is eligible to play, Canada just chose to dress 12/6 against Finland. They could have dressed 11/7.
Harley can’t just suit up, Canada would have too many dressed. Doesn’t have to be Makar out but somebody (a defenseman) would have to be out of the lineup. And that's fine, I heard otherwise (Harley cleared to play for Canada regardless of Makar's availability) but I wasn't sure if I missed another report.
It seems like a lack of outrage for Canada allowing to Harley to continue to play, but not Hughes. If Harley isn't eligible, then I completely understand Hughes not being allowed, unless for injury/illness.
