As a Pens fan I'm rather shocked that Sully is considering scratching a veteran like Kreider. He absolutely adores his veterans.


In small tournies like these a lot of things can decide it. Randomly hot goaltending. Randomly hot players. A team gelling quicker than the other teams.

Kreider has had the worst year of any of the named forwards. Even Sullivan can see that. I'd take my chances with a Nelson/Trocheck/Larkin 4th line.

Might as well just send Larkin home if you are gonna 13th forward him.

If I had to guess he gets in over Kreider. Hes also a center so he’s more versatile as well like Brock Nelson.

I think you can argue he's better than Trocheck and Nelson but those two bring some different things to the lineup (Trocheck is one of the best faceoff guys in the league and Nelson is considerably bigger).

really like the look of that 3rd line. Miller & Boldy are Swiss Army Knife types and then you have a complete pitbull in Tkachuk. I wouldn’t mind seeing Larkin in the Top 9, but I think he gets a move up if either of the top lines need an injection of speed.

I expect McAvoy to have a big tournament. He’s just a gamer. Faber has struggled since his concussion, hope he refinds his game here. Those two plus Slavin are going to have their hands full, but they are more than capable.

I've seen the USA roster, and I cannot help but think the team will cruise to victory. Unlike the drunken gamblers that assembled Team Canada, the America roster looks stacked. The American goalies are light years ahead of Canada, and expect Hellebuyck to play on his head.
