Sanderson is great. It’s not his fault but Quinn just brings a dynamic that none of the others on our blue line bring. Losing Hughes drastically changes the way we play.
Absolutely they can ad offense but the can’t do what Hughes does when it comes to possession in the offensive zone.I don’t think it changes too much not having a banged up Hughes. Still have a pair of Top 5 offensive D in Fox & Werenski.
For Hughes to miss this, you know he’s dealing with a pretty serious injury.
Missing the previous 5 games and then missing out on his first taste of “international play” indicates it’s fairly significantHis team is in the midst of a pretty serious playoff race. Doesn’t indicate much about severity other than he doesn’t want to risk making it worse and missing more of the regular season.

Of course he will be, that’s still a near 4 weeks without playing hockeyHe will almost guaranteed be back after the break. Already skating.
My sentiments as well.Losing Hughes is a huge loss, I'd give the reins to Werenski and let him run with it. He should do fine with the season that he's having.
That's the fear. This tournament is turning into a farce. The more players back out, the more it’s going to turn it on All Star level of competition.
There's been surprisingly little of this. Losing Hughes hurts, but I'm confident it's for a good reason. Sanderson isn't in the same class but is very good in his own right, and has been playing very well lately. Could be worse. This tournament is turning into a farce. The more players back out, the more it’s going to turn it on All Star level of competition.

The Olympics will be at a similar time of year and (almost) everyone loves the NHL in the Olympics.I think the tournament timing is the question. There will always be guys banged up on teams in playoff races at this time of year.
