Before 4 Nations, I think most would overwhelming put Olympics as the more important to win over 4 Nations. But adding that any sort of best on best hasn’t been played since 2016 (2014 if your one of those), the political climate and a lot of today’s generation never representing their country in a BoB, was the 4 Nations are more important tourny to win then the Olympics?

Olympics by a country mile

As fun as this tournament was, the excitement was more about the long wait of a best on best nations tournament (4 nations anyway), and finally seeing guys like: McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, and Makar all playing together on the same team (in meaningful games).

This will kind of be forgotten in a year's time.

I agree with everything but the last sentence. This felt like hockey's most viral moment in the multimedia age; i think itll be remembered for a long while

The Olympics being just one year from now after a 12 year absence, followed by the WC in 2028, I dunno how much the 4 Nations will be talked about in the future. Plus it was only 4 teams, not truely best on best.

Still fun regardless of course.

Very fair and I do believe they plan on raising the number of nations? Maybe I misread

The specific moment of the fights in the first USA v Canada game, as well as the final OT goal (passing of the torch some say), I think will be talked for a while

As a whole I believe the tournament is a nice fit in between Olympic and AS years

4 nations has a higher level of play, sorely due to the fact there are no filler teams or players from lower leagues. Also NHL rules >>>>> IIHF rules, which raises the entertainment value.

However the Olympics hold more prestige because it has a history. 4 nations will take a few iterations to build prestige.

To answer the OPs question, the Olympics is more important for now, even if it isn't better hockey.

This is probably the best answer, with the filler teams and NHL rules and officials.

For what, the Olympics or WC?
WC is minimum 8 Daly said.
