@tnuoc
So you want Canadians to boo the US anthem, and Americans to boo the Canadian anthem?

If this is what you’re advising, then what’s next, stomping on each others flags?

Booing another country's national anthem at a sporting event is highly disrespectful and inappropriate. National anthems are a symbol of a country's pride, history, and culture. Disrespecting another nation's anthem can be seen as a form of hostility, and it could escalate tensions between countries.

My question is the same as the tweet.

Do you consider this disrespectful?

Brock Faber with a refreshing take on the animosity between USA-CAN that is not completely tone deaf. JT Miller and MTkachuk need to take notes, but that would require them to be able to write with a pen and paper instead of sticking it in their noses.
I mean that’s not really refreshing. It’s still a complete meat head take. 99.9 of these players are the dumbest dude you will ever speak to in your life.

Has one American been like “we shouldn’t be talking about annexing Canadians we understand why citizens are angry”.

You know Brady will be asked a question about it when he gets back here, so it'll be curious to see how he handles it.

I don't expect him to denounce anything about his country, or diminish the US/Canada hockey rivalry, but saying something nice about Canadians and how he's been embraced here should be the bare minimum. He does play here after all, and his mom is from Winnipeg.
Its never too much to expect people to stand up and say something when they have a platform to do so
It's honestly ridiculous how their government there is saying shit like this, and how the American team (moreso Bill Guerin) is leaning into it as if it's awesome.
Its f***ing disgusting.

Right. Because they think it’s cool. Simple as that. They’re dumb, coked out, man children lol.

A lot of these guys read at like a grade 8 level. I don’t take what they say or their beliefs very seriously
Yeah, I’m sure there are a few that have more neutral or even opposing views about Trump as a whole, but by and large they are likely a very small minority.

These guys are too rich and privileged to be impacted by politics. They are the kinds of people that think Trump is hilarious and can’t fact check anything he says because they don’t actually know anything.

A stern "not getting into that stuff" would be pretty disappointing.

don’t expect these guys to ever say anything of substance lol.

“No comment” isn’t good enough

He should say that the presidents comments are out of line.

As for your last paragraph. It’s not that crazy. They’re a bunch of idiots and class has been replaced with “owning the libs”

I’ll say USA takes the first penalty early, and if Canada scores on that PP we win the game. Makar, Point, Hagel, Morrisey to me are the players to watch - if they have the puck early Canada is Playing their game and will win.

Remember the day when Matt said about the booing "I don't like it and let's just leave it at that" (or words to that effect)?

He and Brady were at the table at a press conference and the question was asked of Brady. He looked at Matt and literally tagged him (reach out and tapped him on the leg) and then Matt took over.

I don't know what that says, but Brady does have a bad history of hot takes on booing of his team.

Ideally the USA players have a spine and actually condemn what Agent Orange has been doing, but that's expecting to much imo. It's what they should be doing, but that's assuming they're educated or socially aware individuals which NHLers clearly aren't.

At this point, any comment that isn't bitching about fans booing the anthem or praising Agent Orange is positive. If an American player is going to speak to the media, have the awareness to not 'feel proud' that our president is watching or supporting us.

I never want to hear about how good of a leader Brady is after that. Even saying "no comment" or "I'm not going to talk about that" shows more backbone than asking big bro for help. He's exercising savvy media training to keep himself out of hot water, which he may have figured is the best course of action considering his complaining about fans booing DJ.

Players like Brady never get traded so it's going to take a lot more than Lafreniere and a protected or mid round 1st.

If the Rangers miss the playoffs and win the lottery again, Lafreniere and 1st or 2nd is probably a starting point, ironically, since they asked us for 3rd+Brady for Lafreniere back in 2020.

If he goes to New York it will be for a King's Ransome, and then we will hear how Ottawa offered Brady for Lafreniere alone in 2020, or some sort of silly alt history related to that draft.
That's what they said about the greatest player ever, yet he got traded.

Too late - the photo of all those smiling faces is already out.

Its not too much to expect people to do good things. It's certainly not too much to expect someone who works and lives in Canada to express empathy to the people they work and live with, or the fans that make their profession possible.

I can get them all smiling in that pic. From what I understand, they have the cameras on them quite a bit because of the docuseries being filmed so they might have been trained to not have resting bitch face when the camera's are around and to act natural.

Then again I'm prolly giving far too much benefit of the doubt to these meatheads lol

They don’t see it that way. I honestly think you are asking too much.

There are lots of unhappy looking faces in that Pic. More than a few look overjoyed and leaning in intently.

I refuse to lower my standards and how I expect people to reasonably behave and act.

Nagano, other Olympics, World Cup...never felt this nervous about a Team Canada game. I was just doing chores and watching CAN-SWE opener and got hooked by the amazing level of hockey. Then the US-Canada game, now the Trump tweet that should rile up Team Canada (hopefully more so than a WhatsApp group).

Looking forward to an intriguing game of hockey, feels a lot more important given the current geopolitical climate.

As a Sens fan, Tkachuk scares me when he is on the ice for Team USA, hope he doesn't injure himself or injure any of the Canadians. Tonight I will be rooting against him whole-heartedly, as weird as it feels.

Go Canada Go!

I would not expect him to play at this level, during a Sens regular season game….but if the Sens manage to squeak into the playoffs, I would expect at least this level of play.

In any case, he has raised the bar, because we’ve seen he can crank it up, and has raised the bar, even for regular season games that count towards making the playoffs

It's hilarious how stupid hockey players are. It's very easy to come up with safe statement that doesn't offend anyone and sounds rational lmao.

Credit the NHL for playing on the two best hockey markets in the world - Montreal and Boston, got that right for sure
