Imagine when Laine's in actual game-shape. We'll be begging for him to stay and sign an extension.
I don’t understand people who want to trade him. The talent is obvious, if he keeps improving he will be a huge boost to the team.

There’s no rush and we should be patient with him. We haven’t had a talent like him in a long time. I have no doubt it will payoff and he will become a fan favourite.

A portion is just basic reaction and simple expectations. The player is on the ice, he should be healthy, he should give a good effort, he should be effective.

It's fair enough but we've specifically acquired Laine as a cap dump, because he was broken, worthless, needing repairs! And this was before his knee injury right at the start of the season and the decision he took to treat the knee to heal without surgery.

The Habs under Kent Hughes had no other alternative for this position or cap space. It would've been left up to Joshua Roy (as some loudly proclaimed was necessary). I don't think Joshua Roy would've scored at a 52pt pace like Laine's on right now (this after a harsh cold spell).

Laine's pretty much found money. I get complaining about his effort levels but getting tilted against him is silly stuff, it's not like the entire rest of the team are doing better or give a better effort.

Laine will wear out his welcome soon enough.
He has until about this time next year to make a lasting impression. If he wants to stay, that is.

Laine really didn’t come with any expectations due to being a cap dump. I think that will keep him from getting torched by the media and fanbase the way a player with his salary and name value typically would.

He's good when he is with proper linemates. Now he has 2 SC winners with great 2-way play abilities
That's what I was talking about. Lak Emma's own line, leading it. That's exactly what happened in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons. That being said, neither Lundell and especially Luostarinen are TOP players, they just have good positional play. That line reminds me of the Nyquist - Jenner - Laine line.
