Canada puts their milk in bags. Just for that I hope it's 6-0 America.

I really thought about posting Real American or American Made, the WCW Hogan intro.

But I really think Hogan is a shitty person, inside wrestling and outside wrestling. And I really don't wanna seriously incite American nationalism in the name of Hogan.

Even though it's all in good fun. Nationalism in sports is fine IMO. It's sports, we're not rooting for people to blow each other up.

Honestly, it could be pretty fun to have a very worked (not shoot) pissing match between Americans and Canadians in this thread, using American and Canadian wrestling themes, stables and storylines. Like the Hart Foundation (Bret Hart's 1997 promo in his final year in WWF ripping America for not having universalized health care was GOAT) and the Un-Americans (which featured 3 Canadians), The Quebecers,

I always thought it was funny how there seemed to be one random British guy in some of those Canadian stables. Davey Boy with the Hart Foundation and Regal with the Un-Americans. Not that Davey Boy was random, he was Bret and Owen's brother in law.

Bizzaro heel/face Bret Hart, where he was a face in every country but America is probably my incarnation of Bret. It's too bad that there was only such a small sample size of it.

Also if BILL GOLDBERG never knocked Bret into retirement there is probably a 1% chance we could have gotten Bret V. Kurt Angle SOMETIME in our lifetime. I would have sold my left kidney on the black market for that match to happen.

Actually, Kurt V. Owen did happen but it was a dark match and non televised so I doubt footage of it exists but good God, what a treat that would have been to see.

credit to the players for actually giving a shit for this tournament. been really impressed so far.

so much better than NHL allstar garbage
I think the one major turn off for a lot of people is the fact that guys could and have gotten injured during these mid-season international runs.

I don't think too many people had a problem with the actual hockey aspect, but I do think the product we've gotten has turned out to be much better than what we had originally thought it would be.

I’m not gonna lie, I would have loved to see Bret vs Shawn POST screwjob. Like early to mid 00s. Bret was still very pissed with both Vince and Shawn at the time. He did get inducted into the HOF in 2006, so things seemed to have calmed down at least with him and Vince by then.

But if then 70 year old Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels could main event Summerslam 2005 then I really think a physically capable Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels could have main evented a Wrestlemania around the same time.

I can’t believe Goldberg still wrestles (at least when he feels like it or needs money) as of 2025. He wasn’t even good in 1999. I can’t believe Vince and now Hunter even keep bringing him back whenever he feels like coming back. I don’t understand why he’s even a draw anymore.

I loved WWE (even WCW) in the 90s and 00s, but I honestly don’t watch anymore. Haven’t followed much probably since 2013 or 2014 other than here and there. I was always told I would grow out of it when I loved it as a teenager. I think I did grow out of it, but not until I was well into my 30s.

I still do watch LOTS of old clips on YouTube. Especially during NHL offseason.

Yep. Realized that after posting. Too lazy to change it. :D

If the US doesn't win in regulation tonight the game vs Sweden would end up deciding who advances. There's a bunch of different scenarios that could happen but would be nice if they avoid all that and just beat Canada in regulation tonight.
