The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will be held from Feb. 12-20 in Montreal and Boston, with teams of NHL players from Finland, Sweden, Canada and the United States competing in a round-robin tournament. Each team will consist of 13 forwards, seven defensemen and three goalies. This will be the first best-on-best tournament since the World Cup of Hockey 2016 in Toronto.

4 NATIONS FACE-OFF FORMAT

All games in the 4 Nations Face-Off will be played in accordance with NHL rules. Each team will play three tournament games in a traditional Round Robin format, under the following points system: 3 points for a win in regulation time; 2 points for a win in overtime/shootout; 1 point for a loss in overtime/shootout; and 0 points for a loss in regulation time. The two teams with the best tournament record will then advance to a one-game Final.

Ticket prices are my biggest complaint. For a tournament that a lot of people on HF in the 4 Nations segment of the board say they don't care about the ticket prices are all still really high for these games.

I plan on going to Boston if the US actually makes the final but I'm prepared to be disappointed and them not make it anyway since the world junior teams are the only US teams who don't disappoint.

team USA is so loaded man lol. unreal squad even with quinn out. I think I give them the slight overall edge over canada largely due to goaltending. the top 6 of canada is insane though and their powerplay.. McDavid / MacKinnon / Crosby / Reinhart / Makar WHEW good luck with that

The coaches though, yuck. I never have any faith in any US hockey team that isn't the juniors. They always seem to be meh when the Olympics and worlds and any world type tournament comes around. Hoping this year is different but not convinced.

Agreed on the ticket prices in Boston, but you can sit in the lower bowl in Bell Center for cheap for the USA/Finland game this Thursday in Montreal. And you can have more fun in Montreal ;)

This tournament is dumb but it is always fun to see guys who don't play together normally doing it in actual competitive games and not the usual going through the motions crap at the ASG.

I just hope Jack remembers he shouldn't be passing to his other half when they're playing Sweden.

I'm in the minority in that I don't like the city of Montréal as much as a lot of people do so personally I'll never travel there again unless it's a major game I can't miss like the Red Bulls in the playoffs or like game 7 of the conference finals for the Devils.

Fair enough! Both cities have their own charm, but the nightlife in Montreal has always been a lot more fun for me than Boston. I haven't been since before covid though. Heard they have been having a lot of issues with crime up there. Going up for the games Wed/Thurs. so I guess I'll find out.

If I go to the final I'm not even staying in Boston, driving there the day of and I'll drive right back after the game lol

Was interesting to see Jack just all-out gushing over playing with a real shooter. Is this a message to Fitz? ;)

I'll be at the Championship Game. Praying for US vs Canada but assuming I'll get Haula vs. Bratt
