I still don't understand why he's THE guy here.
Even with Thompson off the roster, what makes him more worthy to start over someone like Hill?
He's having a shit season, he's been bad for 3 of the last 4 years probably? His one cup win was almost 6 years ago. Has he even won a playoff round that wasn't in that 2019 playoff year? Maybe one other year he won a round?
Honestly, he probably should be the third goalie behind Hill and Thompson. I don't realistically expect Jake Allen to be picked over him, but he probably should be third with Hill second and Thompson first.
At the very least I don't know why he's first to Hill.
If one of those connect and the US scores, praise will abound about his awareness with the puck.
Biggest game of his career. He's played for Detroit his entire career.

I get it, but it's not a game you want to make a mistake in....
I feel jack can make a simpler play and have more impact. Hopefully he gets a couple more good looks in the 3rd...

Adam Deadmarsh was on the 96 world cup of hockey Team USA roster? I don't even remember him on that team.
I always liked him. His career was cut way too short to concussions.

Bored and on some edibles so I decided to tune in. Better hockey than I expected. The only time I saw Jack he was turning the puck over. God I hate these French crowds.
I agree completely. His spinning, blind passes are cause for concern.

I had to look up a picture of him.
I don't even know what some of these guys look like. I could have never picked him out a lineup. There's a lot of different players I wouldn't know what they looked like cause you always see them under a helmet. If I were a fan of Detroit I would be, because he's their captain and I'm sure he gets interviewed a lot.

Hughes and Matthews just don’t have any chemistry together. I rather see Hughes play 4th line center than where he’s playing now.

Matthews can't handle his passes either for some reason. Granted, a lot haven't been tape to tape, but Matthews has fumbled several outlet passes in the neutral zone from Jack.
Cause the main board sucks, I always regret going there every time I do it lol

This has been a very tight checking game with little being generated be either team. Not sure I see the need for the dump on Jack Hughes parade.
