Marner was fine all game with McDavid, but Reinhart was the problem because he was not fast enough. I think bringing Point to McDavid's line is something to try since he also brings some speed. Point also has a good one-timer that McDavid loves to use in his linemates.I was really thinking all game that Marner is NOT the player I'd play with Connor McDavid.
With how McDavid brings the puck to the net I'd use him with Sam Bennett and Reinhart.
I'm not sure how much thought was given to keeping Hyman paired with him but I remember when Chris Kunitz was kept to play with Crosby and scored that Monumental goal against Sweden in the gold medal game.
Is there a trade to be made? I'm sure Pens fans wouldn't mind seeing Crosby help attempt to bring Cup #25 to Montreal? It would be so epic..As a Pens fan I would have to agree. You guys have the best atmosphere in hockey and I don't think it's particularly close. Very raucous fans.
Billington made couple big stops in overtimeHe's going to stick with Binnington.
Nah he has zero interest in leaving Pittsburgh. He wants to be a one team guy like his idol Yzerman. And also like Mario. Is there a trade to be made? I'm sure Pens fans wouldn't mind seeing Crosby help attempt to bring Cup #25 to Montreal? It would be so epic..
If he leaves the Pens, it will be for Colorado and a chance to play with N8Nah he has zero interest in leaving Pittsburgh. He wants to be a one team guy like his idol Yzerman. And also like Mario.
Unfortunately given the current state of the Pens he might not get to play playoff hockey again before he retires. Hopefully Dubas can turn it around before then. Sid deserves some more playoff hockey.
you mean to say compared to a literal all-star team, the Habs look bad? It’s interesting watching a game filled with stars, you can see just how bad the Habs really are![]()
We've had a bottom 10 on ice roster for 30 years we can just watch any NHL game played to see how bad we areIt’s interesting watching a game filled with stars, you can see just how bad the Habs really are![]()
Crosby just floored me. At 37 he is still the man. McDavid & MacKinnon may be flashy but Crosby is clutch. I had him up there with the superstars and he rose even higher after last night's game.Beautiful goal by Mitchell. Showing the world what he can do out of losers town.
Good game by Marchand. He made us all proud.
Crosby is the real MVP and should be the #1 center. McNothing got nothing on him even at 37 years old.
Jesus Dude Shut your trap about the hate shit. It's pretty clear I'd prefer another net front guy with McDavid you would think my reference to Zach Hyman would clue you in to the fact that it's a style type and role preference and nothing more. I simply felt Marner was much easier to tie up in and around the net and guess what I wasn't wrong. There were a number of pucks a stronger more familiar with that role type of player could have capitalized on. You don't agree fine but don't try to turn it into something it isn't.Marner was fine all game with McDavid, but Reinhart was the problem because he was not fast enough. I think bringing Point to McDavid's line is something to try since he also brings some speed. Point also has a good one-timer that McDavid loves to use in his linemates.
The insane Marner hate on this forum is self-evident in this thread. Marner isn't going to be a tier 1 player. He's a good top-line winger, nothing more nor less. Celebrini is likely to become tier 1.
I disagree. McDavid needs someone that forechecks hard, he already has the cerebral sniper in Reinhart (like Drai) but you can’t have another guy that just waits in passing lanes as opposed to attacking opposing players. He needs energy with him, like a Hyman.Marner was fine all game with McDavid, but Reinhart was the problem because he was not fast enough. I think bringing Point to McDavid's line is something to try since he also brings some speed. Point also has a good one-timer that McDavid loves to use in his linemates.

They should be working this into the next bargaining agreement. The players themselves hate too many useless pre-season games so cut a week out and start a minimum of one week earlier. So if the NHL is going to shut down for a couple of weeks every other February for the foreseeable future, is there any discussion about starting the season two weeks earlier? It seems nuts to have the ultra compressed schedule like this season happening every other year.
