I really hope this tournament serves as the moment Crosby opens up to finishing his career elsewhere. I’ve loved watching him as a Penguin, but I want to see him playing meaningful hockey his last few years in the league. Playoff hockey.

He’s still such a good player

I didn't love Coopers personnel management in the 3rd and OT. There were a couple guys I would have liked to get more ice time. In the end, they got the win, and it was only in OT because of poor goaltending so nothing to gripe about too much. Anxious to see Saturday's game to better assess. Hopefully just a slight sprain for Theodore.

So, what’s the format exactly here?

Everybody plays each other once, and then we have sort of medal games?

Others will argue Henderson 72 and Lemieux 87. A case can be made for all.
I will always remember Kariya's goal where Lemieux let the pass go through his legs.

It was the 2-0 goal but pretty much won the gold medal

Only top 2 teams advance to the finals.

All due respect to the Gawwdd Crosby, that drop pass ain't being talked about at all if it wasn't for a picture perfect snipe from Mitch. He needed a moment in his life - so Great for him

And a great night for Leaf fans. CANADA wins, and a LEAF wins it - making MTL'ers choke on their early Leaf hate for Matty and Will. Hahaaaaaaa

Henderson scored the game winning goal in game 6.

And the game winning goal in game 7.

And the game winning goal in game 8.

Much as the others were spectacular single GWGs, I really don't see much of a case for them by comparison.

Yeah McDavid was awesome

I turned it off with 10 mins left because it was late and kind of boring hockey for international competition.

Glad Marner shot the puck. If he learns anything during this tournament hopefully it’s -1 shoot when you can and 2, maybe even more importantly, pass the puck with some zip on it. It was really noticeable how slow his passes were (and his feet) but he was smart enough to stay back and be the defensive forward.

McDavid was passing to himself a lot of times. He is a different beast and it’s a shame he’s in that small market and fans don’t get to see him enough. Other leagues would have him in a big US market.

Honestly impressed with the gameplay. I wasn’t sure if we’d see them play competitively or sluggish like the All-Star game but it almost lived up to the hype. It was exciting seeing best on best with them trying for the most part. Maybe they expand this format in the future and include Russia and Czech.

Can tell that McDavid line was missing a Hyman type player. I get what Cooper is doing with the lines by having defensive responsible players with the offensive guys but they didn't have any speed with him or someone who is hard on the puck around the net and loves retrieving pucks for skilled guys. Maybe switch Hagel with Reinhart.
Move Marner to a line with Crosby and leave a shooter with McDavid.
