Gus has parked the whole Bus in front of the Sweden net. Ain't nothing going through!

And Stützle, and Merilainen
That was an entertaining game, I’ll give it that.
Much better than a shitty All star game.
I mean as a GM you trade and value picks because you believe your scouting staff can find you the right guys. The trade worked out in the end, but unless you're arguing that Dorion knew he'd get Stutzle with the pick then it's irrelevant.
They did get a point and they held Canada to 2 points.Sweden deserved better
Crosby is a legend

If you look around the league I bet most teams are kicking themselves for not drafting the way the Sens did in 2020.
In one draft we pulled four guys who are on our regular roster (Stützle, Sanderson, Greig, Kleven), and a goalie who seems like he might be our backup and/or starter of the future. The two missteps are really Jarventie and Sokolov. Out of seven rounds.
All that to say, you gotta count guys you draft with pocks acquired in a trade. You (the general you) would equally hold it *against* them if they spent those picks poorly.
Mika, Gus & Karlsson VS Stone
Call it the Pierre Dorion Proudest Day Trophy.
20 games of Oscar Lindberg? What did we get for Stone again, that Dorion was so cheery about?
If a poster argues that Dorion knew he would get the #3 pick with the trade, then that poster is delusional! The trade worked out in the end, but unless you're arguing that Dorion knew he'd get Stutzle with the pick then it's irrelevant.
A pygmy defenseman?20 games of Oscar Lindberg?
I had to look "dilapidating" up!Even Sokolov and Jarventie weren't that bad as picks. Sokolov had a footsteps problems but a very good skillset, his skating just didn't improve enough. Jarventie could still have a future but looks like another injury prone guy. Between Covid and injuries, he has missed a lot of development time.
I said it before, this draft was one of the best in NHL history and I started saying that in 2021 IIRC. Which makes me wonder why our 2021, 2022 and 2023 drafts were so terrible? And knowing we had some ability to draft good players (Batherson, Pinto, etc in recent past), why was Dorion dilapidating draft picks like it was worthless? So frustrating. Staios could do much more if we had a better pool and bank of picks

just go with the vibe lol Or get us a replacement in your trade deals .. park the blipLosing Stone is depressing.
We were gifted another Alfredsson, who probably would have stayed if we had any other owner, but Melnyk wouldn't sign him to a contract with market value terms. (Max length+NMC)
He isn't even a Senator anymore. That's not part of his legacy. We are somewhere he passed through. It's like Forsberg wearing a Flyers jersey on his rookie card. Nobody remembers him as part of the Flyers org'. While it's a bit of an exaggeration, it's mostly the same thing here. When it's all said and done, we're just a blip on his legacy.
