I don't see any reason why Anaheim or Ottawa would be acquiring Skinner, unless they'd be taking him for dirt cheap with the intent of flipping him at the deadline. But based on Skinner's season, I really struggle to see why anyone would be interested in him at the deadline.

Even if he bounces back a bit and is putting up a 40 point pace, what kind of value even is that? Guys like Tatar go for 4ths or 5ths at the deadline every year, I feel like Skinner is going to be the same way. Just not a high enough potential return to even bother trading for him.

Best case is scenario is we attach him to assets for a Dman at the deadline. He's an expiring contract so that might be better in some teams eyes vs retention on their player. His trade value in the deal can be zero.

Most sellers can eat an expiring contract. Certainly more options for this vs using a retention spot which some clubs due to used retention spots already can't even consider.

Yeah he reminds me of Galchenyuk when the Penguins threw him in the Zucker trade at the deadline. He had no value but was included just for cap reasons to make the money work.

Skinner is going to go somewhere like Ottawa and extend that playoff streak.

Haven't been following him but didn't he start the season off kinda hot?

Don't see why anyone would want him or why he'd want to leave... maybe take just enjoy the passion of a Canadian market and try and go on a run in your probable last season

some team will lose a winger for the season. i think in the right place he could live up to his contract
