GDT: 4/9/25 - 7:00PM EDT - Toronto vs Tampa Bay

I just don't think we can go deep with Raddysh and/or Perbix on the backend. Too much volatility in the negative direction. For all the shit that Lilleberg has gotten from fans (including me at times), he's calmed it down for the most part during the 2nd half of this season & been solid.
A 5D won't be hard to get. Someone may have to go between Rads and Perbix because I don't see either displacing Moser or Cernak. Now, if we could get a Jeannot who isn't actual Jeannot and a 4C whose ready to die blocking shots (think a Nate Thompson with Callahan work ethic) to play with Chaffee... yeah.

We can throw Paul and Cirelli together (if Cirelli is still here next year) and those 2 lines can shut down the entire game with Heddy and Mac almost never leaving the ice.

Same, in my eyes next season it's gonna be THE year for us.
Chance at re-tooling the 4th line + re-tool the third pairing of the Dcore.
Add to that an improved Geekie... nuclear!
Yeah I smell a big top 6 trade and a retool of the 4th line and bottom pairing D next year. But I could be wrong.

We *DO* need a backup goalie though.... and that sorta pokes a hole in my guesses

Lines?? Maybe line. Third line is pretty gritty and talented. Has Gourde and Paul on it. Nobody rolls 4 quality lines and our 4th line is just there to hopefully tread water but we are not alone.
Agree. If the 4th gets say 9 minutes TOI, that translates to roughly 3-4 shifts per period. ZG is -5 and Glendenning is -9 for the year. I think we can live with that.

I like Lilleberg a lot and will stay patient because he's a young player, but he can't defend. Outside of open ice hits he has done absolute f*** all lately in his own end, although to be fair his offensive game has gotten better over time. Pains me to say but he has been SO soft and easy to play against for awhile now, he is slow to react and never lays a finger on anybody entering the zone. It's weird, he can time guys for a great hit in open ice but besides that he won't do anything at all from a physical standpoint. Never closes guys off hard along the wall, never really engages in netfront scrums, backs down from confrontation, doesn't look guys in the eyes. I hope I jinx it like the last time I called him soft tbh.

Perbix has actually been better in the past month or two, and Raddysh is a perfectly capable bottom pair guy. The bottom pairing is a bit vulnerable but the same can be said for many teams, and ours is better than most.

I want Lilleberg in the lineup for what he's capable of providing, but he is struggling in his own zone and he has lost his swag in a big, big way. He needs to become a presence on the ice again, maybe @Webster can work his sources and get the real Lilleberg back and playing with some bite.

Need this win. We must remind those Leafs that Lightning is not to be messed with.

Go Bolts!!!!

Nobody should be scared of an lowly leaf.
